Career
Thompson was drafted out of high school in the first round of the 1991 MLB draft and started his career in Detroit Tigers minor league system. Thompson started his professional career with the rookie-level Bristol Tigers of the Appalachian League in 1991. Thompson moved up to Class A the next year joining the South Atlantic League's Fayetteville Generals in 1992. In 1993,Thompson split time in Class A and Double-A,playing with the Lakeland Tigers of the Florida State League and the Eastern League's London Tigers.
Thompson made his major-league debut in 1996. He was selected to the American League (AL) All-Star team in 1997,at the age of 24,during a season in which he won 15 games and finished fifth in the AL with a 3.02 ERA. He continued to pitch well in 1998,finishing second in the AL in games started,with 34. Injury problems,however,derailed his 1999 season.
Thompson was traded by the Tigers to the Texas Rangers in an eight-player trade after the 1999 season that involved Juan González being sent to Detroit. Thompson spent six seasons in Minor League Baseball with the Rangers organization,including a missed 2001 season due to a torn rotator cuff suffered in 2000,before playing in MLB again for two games in 2005. Thompson elected free agency after the 2005 season and subsequently signed a minor-league contract with the Milwaukee Brewers in December 2005. In May 2006,Thompson retired after playing eight games for Milwaukee's Triple-A affiliate,the Nashville Sounds.

He won the 1996 World Series with the New York Yankees over the Atlanta Braves, and played in the 2006 World Series with the Detroit Tigers. Thomas Dale Brookens is an American former professional baseball third baseman. He played for the Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians of the Major League Baseball (MLB). Brookens was on the Tigers' coaching staff from 2009 to 2013, serving as first base coach and later third base coach. He was replaced as third base coach prior to the 2014 season by Dave Clark.
William Joseph Haselman is an American professional baseball coach and former player. He played as a catcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 13 seasons between 1990 and 2003. A first-round selection in the 1987 MLB draft, he played for the Texas Rangers, Seattle Mariners, Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. He previously was the bullpen coach and first base coach for the Red Sox and the third base coach for the Los Angeles Angels. He has also served as a manager in Minor League Baseball.
Thomas Marian Paciorek is an American former outfielder and first baseman who spent 18 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) with the Los Angeles Dodgers (1970–1975), Atlanta Braves (1976–1978), Seattle Mariners (1978–1981), Chicago White Sox (1982–1985), New York Mets (1985) and Texas Rangers (1986–1987). He appeared twice in the postseason, with the National League (NL) champion Dodgers in 1974 and the American League (AL) West-winning White Sox in 1983.
Frank John Catalanotto is an American baseball coach and former infielder and left fielder, who is the current head baseball coach of the Hofstra Pride. Catalanotto played professional baseball for the Detroit Tigers (1997–1999), the Texas Rangers, the Toronto Blue Jays (2003–2006), the Milwaukee Brewers (2009) and the New York Mets (2010). In his career, Catalanotto played all infield and outfield positions except shortstop and center field. He then went on to be the head baseball coach of the NYIT Bears (2019–2020).

Jackie Spencer Moore is an American former professional baseball catcher, coach and manager. He spent all or parts of 12 years over five separate terms as a Texas Rangers coach, and 32 years in all as a coach for eight different Major League Baseball (MLB) teams. Moore managed the Oakland Athletics (1984–86), and played part of one season with the Detroit Tigers as a third-string catcher in 1965.

He played as a catcher for the San Francisco Giants, Detroit Tigers, Milwaukee Brewers, St. Louis Cardinals, Minnesota Twins, Boston Red Sox and Texas Rangers in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1996 through 2002. After retiring as a player, Jensen coached and managed in the minor leagues. Since 2015, he has served as a coach for the Oakland Athletics of MLB.
