Iziaq Adeyanju

Iziaq Adeyanju (sometimes written Iziak Adeyanju; born 21 October 1959) is a Nigerian former sprinter who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics and in the 1988 Summer Olympics. [1]

In the 4 x 100 metres relay he won a gold medal at the 1982 Commonwealth Games and the 1985 African Championships, and also finished seventh with the African team at the 1985 World Cup. [2]

He won a 100/200 m double at the Nigerian Athletics Championships in 1988. [3]

He won a 60 metres bronze medal at the 1991 World Indoor Championships, and he became African champion in 1984 and 1985.

Sunday Bada was a Nigerian sprinter who specialized in the 400 metres event. He won three medals at the World Indoor Championships, including a gold medal in 1997. His personal best time was 44.63 seconds, and with 45.51 seconds indoor he holds the African indoor record. He set a national record in the 4 x 400 metres relay at the 2000 Olympics, where the Nigerian team also won gold medals after the disqualification of the US team who had finished first.

Michael Anthony McFarlane OBE was a British athlete who competed mainly in the 100 metres and 200 metres. He won an Olympic silver medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and was the 200 m gold medallist at the 1982 Commonwealth Games and a 60 metres gold medallist at the 1985 European Athletics Indoor Championships. McFarlane won two further sprint medals at the 1986 Commonwealth Games.

Maria Usifo is a Nigerian athlete and former Olympian who represented Nigeria at Los Angeles (1984) and Seoul (1988) Olympic Games. She specialized in the 100 and 400 metres hurdles. She is one of the female athletes in Nigerian sports history who dominated athletic events both at national and international levels.

She also won the 100 and 200 m sprints at the 2007 All-Africa Games.

He competed at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in the 100 metres and 4 × 100 metres relay, and at the 2019 African Games, he won a gold medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay. He was also a 100 metres finalist at the 2019 African Games, finishing fourth.
