Ian Lowry (born 22 September 1986 in Moira, County Down, Northern Ireland) is a Northern Irish motorcycle racer.
A former chef, [1] Lowry started off in the British Supersport class in 2006. He raced there for 3 seasons, finishing 9th in this first season, 2nd in 2007 and 3rd in the 2008 championship.
He then made the step to the British Superbike Championship in 2009 with the Relentless TAS Suzuki. [2] He worked on his fitness in a university study pre-season. [3] Lowry was a consistent points-scorer, racking up enough points for 5th overall despite failing to take a podium finish. He rounded off the season by competing in the Sunflower Trophy at Bishopscourt.
TAS signed Michael Laverty and Alastair Seeley for 2010, leaving Lowry without a ride. He signed to race in the Spanish Moto2 championship, in a team ran by former Grand Prix winner Jeremy McWilliams, [4] however the deal fell through. [5] He also tested a BSB Motorpoint Yamaha in April 2010, as a potential short-term replacement for the injured Neil Hodgson. [6] With Hodgson announcing his retirement on 22 April 2010, Lowry was confirmed as his replacement. [7] However, two rounds later Lowry was replaced by Andrew Pitt. [8] He made a BSB return for the Kawasaki SRT team in their one-off entry to the Brands Hatch bank holiday triple-header, [9] and this continued into the Nurburgring World Superbike meeting, his debut in this class. [5] For 2011 Lowry signed for the Buildbase team who had moved from Kawasaki machinery to the new BMW S1000RR. The team struggled with the new bike, meaning that Lowry and team mate John Laverty struggled to score points, Lowry's best finish being a ninth in the second race at Snetterton. At the Cadwell park round after Lowry's bike blew up in a free practice session he was so upset with the team's lack of form that he decided to go home missing the Cadwell Park weekend. [10]

John "Hopper" Hopkins is a former motorcycle road racer based in the United States. During 2017 he raced in the British Superbike Championship aboard a Ducati 1199 Panigale for Moto Rapido Racing, but suffered injuries from a crash at the season-finale race meeting in October, meaning he could not participate during 2018. He has not made a full recovery, which has so far precluded hopes of a comeback, but he has become involved in rider coaching.
Andrew Pitt is a retired motorcycle racer. He is a double World Supersport Champion, and has also won a World Superbike race and competed in MotoGP. He lives in Peel on the Isle of Man.
Chris Walker is a British motorcycle road racer and former scrambler with the nickname The Stalker. He is a four-time runner-up in the British Superbike Championship, and a former race winner in the Superbike World Championship. For the 2015 season Walker signed for Tommy Hill's Be Wiser Kawasaki Team aboard a Kawasaki ZX-10R in the British Superbike Championship, following his 2014 season with Lloyds British GBmoto squad. Team manager Hill left in August, 2015, and the team folded in September, leaving Walker without a ride for the final two race meetings of the season.
Neil Stuart Hodgson is a British former motorcycle racer, who won the 2000 British Superbike Championship, and the 2003 Superbike World Championship titles. He then went on to have a moderately successful four years in the American Superbike Championship, with a best 5th place championship finish.
Tommy Hill is a former British motorcycle road racer, born 9 February 1985 in Beckenham, Kent. His greatest success was becoming the British Superbike Champion for 2011. He also competed in the World Superbike and World Supersport championships.
James Desmond Ellison is an English motorcycle racer. After two seasons on a Yamaha R1, Ellison expected to retire at the end of 2018, but in 2019 again competed in the British Superbike Championship series aboard a BMW S1000RR, before parting company with his team half-way through the season in August. He then joined another British Superbike team for the remainder of the 2019 season, starting from the September event at Oulton Park, on the ex-Danny Kent machine, previously an ex-Leon Camier 2016 MV Agusta F4.
The British Superbike Championship (BSB), currently known for sponsorship reasons as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, is the leading road racing superbike championship in the United Kingdom, and is still acknowledged to be the premier domestic superbike racing series in the world.
Michael Laverty is an occasional motorcycle racer from Toomebridge, Northern Ireland. After participating in the 2017 season in the British Superbike Championship aboard a Yamaha YZF-R1, and the 2018 season on a Tyco BMW, Laverty became a television commentator and occasional rider in Endurance events.
Joshua Brookes is a professional road racer of motorcycles with experience of Superbike and Supersport racing, both domestically and internationally. For 2023, Brookes joined FHO Racing aboard a BMW M1000RR.
TAS Racing is an international motorcycle road racing team based in Moneymore, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Owned by Hector Neill, with his son Philip Neill as the team manager, the team has been known under a series of names: TAS Suzuki (2000–2006); Relentless Suzuki (2007–2011) an energy drink product of Coca-Cola; Tyco Suzuki (2012–2014) a security services supplier. In late 2014, after a 15-year partnership with Suzuki, the team signed to become the road racing partner for BMW Motorrad.
The 2008 British Superbike Championship season was scheduled to begin on 6 April 2008; however, snow at Brands Hatch forced the abandonment of the day's races, which were later rescheduled. The series was rescheduled to start on 20 April and end on 12 October 2008.
Broc Parkes is an Australian motorcycle racer, best known for his success in the Supersport World Championship. He currently races in the Endurance FIM World Championship aboard a Yamaha YZF-R1.

Ian Hutchinson is an English professional motorcycle road racer specialising in events held on closed public roads, such as the Isle of Man TT, the North West 200 and Ulster Grand Prix.
The 2010 British Superbike season was the 23rd British Superbike Championship season. The season commenced on 5 April at Brands Hatch and ended on 10 October at Oulton Park after 26 races at twelve meetings held in England and Scotland. Due to the economic climate many rule changes were discussed including one bike per rider and the banning of electronic aids. The season featured a new Evo Class for less-developed bikes and a new 'Showdown' points system to keep the championship close until the end.
Alastair Seeley is a motorcycle road racer riding in Superstock 1000 class for Northern Ireland based Synetiq BMW.
Thomas George Bridewell is an English motorcycle racer in the British Superbike Championship aboard a Ducati Panigale V4 R. Following several seasons with Oxford Products, for 2023 he will switch to Paul Bird Racing on a factory-supported Ducati.
The 2011 British Superbike season was the 24th British Superbike Championship season. No major rules were changed from the previous year with the showdown section of the season staying and the continuation of the evolution class below the main superbike class. The field had greater quality than the year before with champion Ryuichi Kiyonari returning to defend his title on the HM Plant Honda alongside the returning former British superbike champion Shane Byrne. This meant that Josh Brookes moved onto the lone Relentless by TAS Suzuki, with Michael Laverty and Tommy Hill moving to a new swan Yamaha team. The major signing was that of former Moto GP rider John Hopkins who joined the Samsung crescent Suzuki squad alongside Jon Kirkham.
The 2012 British Superbike season was the 25th British Superbike Championship season. For the 2012 season, MSVR announced a number of changes to the technical regulations of the spectacle of them British Superbike Championship. The championship will be limited to 32 entries, with 16 teams each entering two bikes. This was designed to be a way of rewarding teams that have had a history of competing in the BSB regularly. Teams who had competed in the 2011 season were given automatic entries, whilst teams who wish to graduate to the BSB class had to buy an entry.
Alexander Thomas Lowes is an English motorcycle racer. He signed in October 2019 for the Kawasaki Racing Team in Superbike World Championship as team-mate to multi-world champion Jonathan Rea.
