Hasan Masood (born December 16, 1962) is a Bangladeshi actor. [1] He is also a former journalist and military officer. [2]
Masood was born in Barisal, but he was brought up in the city of Dhaka. He completed his SSC from BAF Shaheen College Dhaka and his HSC from the Government Titumir College in Dhaka. [3]
Hasan has been singing from an early age and he had completed a 5-year course on Nazrul Sangeet from Chhayanaut. [4] Hasan joined the Bangladesh Army in 1983 and commissioned from 11 BMA long course on 21 December 1984 in the corps of infantry and retired as a captain in 1992. [5] He then worked as a sports correspondent at The New Nation and later in 1995, at The Daily Star , [6] and was also a correspondent of world service in the Bengali affiliate of the British Broadcasting Corporation from February 2004 to 2008.
Hasan was approached by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki to play a role in his film Bachelor in February 2003. [4] Hasan took a leave from his position at The Daily Star and started his acting career. The film was released in February 2004. He later acted in the film Made in Bangladesh . [1] His acted television drama plays include 69, "House Full," "Taxi Driver," "FDC", "Bou", "Khunshuti", "Graduate", "Ranger Duniya", "Amader Shangshar", " Gani Shaheber Shesh Kichhudin" and "Batasher Ghor". [7]
Hasan also voiced the soundtrack Ajke Na Hoy Valobasho in the film Bachelor , which is originally a song by Khurshid Alam, written by Dewan Nazrul and composed by Alam Khan. His first music album, Hridoy Ghotito released on the Valentine's Day 2006. Marzuk Russell wrote all of 10 songs on the album, and Sanjeeb Choudhury composed the tunes with Bappa Mazumdar as the arranger of the music. [4]

Kazi Nazrul Islam was a Bengali poet, writer, journalist, and musician. He is the national poet of Bangladesh. Nazrul produced a large body of poetry, music, messages, novels, and stories with themes that included equality, justice, anti-imperialism, humanity, rebellion against oppression and religious devotion. Nazrul Islam's activism for political and social justice as well as writing a poem titled as "Bidrohī", meaning "the rebel" in Bengali, earned him the title of "Bidrohī Kôbi". His compositions form the avant-garde music genre of Nazrul Gīti.

Shayan Chowdhury Arnob is a Bangladeshi singer-songwriter, musician, painter, filmmaker, animator and producer. Arnob was the founding member of the indie folk band Bangla which later went hiatus for internal reasons. Arnob continued performing with some of the band members as Arnob and Friends.

The Bangladesh National Award for Best Film is one of the categories in the National Film Awards presented annually by the Department of Films and Publications, the organisation set up by Ministry of Information in Bangladesh. It is the highest award for films in Bangladesh. This award goes to the producers of the film and is the only category in a year. Enforced disappearances in Bangladesh are cases in which the Government of Bangladesh directly or indirectly kidnaps people and holds them incommunicado. According to a Dhaka-based human rights group Odhikar, at least 402 people have become victim of enforced disappearance from 2009 to 2017 under the current Awami League administration. These incidents along with extrajudicial killings in Bangladesh has been criticized by The United Nations and human rights groups including Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International. Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), a special paramilitary unit in Bangladesh, is alleged to be behind most of these disappearances even though RAB claimed these allegations to be false. The current Awami League government denies involvement in these forced disappearances even when victims later surface in custody.

Made in Bangladesh is a political satire film by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki released in 2006. The movie's release was delayed by a year because of opposition from Bangladesh Film Censor Board over the contents of the film.
