Dr. H. C. Mahadevappa is an Indian politician from Karnataka. [1] [2] He is currently serving as Cabinet Minister in Government of Karnataka &member of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly representing T. Narasipur constituency. [3] [4]
Mahadevappa was born on April 20,1953,in Hadinaru village,Nanjangud taluk,Mysore,Karnataka,to Chikmadaiah and Mahadevamma. He earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from JJM Medical College,Davanagere,in 1999. [5] Mahadevappa is married to Vinoda Mahadevappa and has three children:Sunil,Anitha,and Anil Bose.
Mahadevappa began his political career with the Janata Party,later joining the Janata Dal and subsequently the Janata Dal (Secular). In 1985,he won from the T. Narasipur constituency. [6] [7]
From 1994 to 1999,he served as the Health and Family Welfare Minister in the governments led by H. D. Deve Gowda and J. H. Patel.
During the 2004 Congress-JD(S) coalition government,Mahadevappa held the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj portfolio.
In 2008,he joined the Indian National Congress (INC).
From 2008 to 2018,Mahadevappa represented the T. Narasipur constituency and served as the public works minister in Siddaramaiah’s government from 2013 to 2018. [8]
In 2023,he was appointed as an MLA from the T. Narasipur constituency. [9] He is also the social welfare minister under Chief Minister K. Siddaramaiah's cabinet. [10]
He represents the T. Narasipur constituency in Karnataka and serves as the cabinet minister for public works in the Karnataka government under Chief Minister K. Siddaramaiah. [11]
Mahadevappa has engaged in various initiatives aimed at infrastructure development,social welfare,and community empowerment within Karnataka. [12]
During H. C. Mahadevappa's tenure as Minister of the Public Works Department,the Karnataka State Highway Improvement Project (KSHIP) received the iRAP International Award for excellence in road safety initiatives in the Asia-Pacific region. The award was presented by the Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF) in association with the World Bank (WB). [13]
Mahadevappa contributed to infrastructure development in Karnataka through the following projects:Madhava Mantri Dam,Bengaluru-Mysuru Six-Lane Highway and Dharwad High Court and many more. [14]
Haradanahalli Doddegowda Deve Gowda is an Indian politician who served as the 11th prime minister of India from 1996 to 1997. He previously served as the 14th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 1994 to 1996 and as a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha. A member of the Janata Dal (Secular),he currently serves as the party's president since 1999 and as the Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha representing Karnataka since 2020.

Jagadish Shivappa Shettar is an Indian politician,who served as the 15th Chief Minister of Karnataka from 2012 to 2013. He is currently serving as Member of Karnataka Legislative Council. He has subsequently served as Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly. He also served as the Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly during 2008–2009. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Earlier in 2023 he had joined the Indian National Congress,where he quit the BJP on being denied the MLA ticket in 2023. He represented Hubli-Dharwad Central Vidhan Sabha seat,which he resigned in 2023 before the elections. Tirumakudalu Narasipura the temple city of Karnataka,commonly known as T. Narasipura or T.N. Pura,is a town in Mysore district in the Indian state of Karnataka. The first name refers to the land at the confluence,(trimakuta in Sanskrit at the confluence of the Kaveri,Kabini and Spatika Sarovara. Chikkakalya Narayanappa Ashwathnarayan is an Indian politician who was the Minister of Electronics,Information Technology - Biotechnology,Science and Technology,Higher Education,Skill Development,Entrepreneurship and Livelihood in Government of Karnataka from 20 August 2019 to 13 May 2023. He served as the 8th Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka from 20 August 2019 to 26 July 2021. He is a Member of Karnataka Legislative Assembly representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Malleshwaram constituency.

Halahalli Shreekantha Shetti Mahadeva Prasad was an Indian politician from the state of Karnataka and five-time Member of the Legislative Assembly from the Gundlupet constituency of the Chamarajanagar district. He first won the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elections in 1994 while representing Janata Dal. He was re-elected in five straight subsequent elections in 1999,2004,2008 and 2013. Venkataiah Srinivasa Prasad was an Indian politician from the state of Karnataka,who was recognised as an important Dalit leader in the old Mysore region. He served as a union minister from 1999 to 2004 as part of the Third Vajpayee ministry,and later as Minister of Revenue in the Government of Karnataka from 2013 to 2016.
