Frederik Svane (born January 21, 2004) is a German chess grandmaster.
Svane is the younger brother of Rasmus Svane. At age four, Frederik joined a chess club and began learning and playing against Rasmus. [2]
In December 2020, Svane won the World Online Junior U16 Championship. [3]
In April 2021, Svane, then a FIDE Master, defeated Matthias Blübaum (then the top-rated German player) in a surprise upset in the Kader Challenge, a tournament for top-level German chess players. [3]
In October 2021, Svane achieved his first GM norm by finishing in second place at a round-robin in Kiel, Germany. [2]
In May 2022, he obtained two GM norms in less than one day by finishing second in a closed GM tournament held by the Hamburg Chess Club with a performance rating of 2607, and then drawing against Eduardas Rozentalis in the Hamburg Invitational. [4]
In October 2022, he had a strong standing in the World Junior Chess Championship. [5]
Svane played in the Chess World Cup 2023, where he defeated Lee Jun Hyeok in the first round, but was defeated by Ivan Cheparinov in the second round.
At his Chess Olympiad debut in 2024, he earned an individual gold medal, scoring 8/9 on board five. [6] Later that year, he finished the European Individual Championship in third place.

Vidit Santosh Gujrathi is an Indian chess grandmaster. He is a double gold medalist at the Olympiad. He is also a silver medalist at the Asian Games. Gujrathi attained the title of grandmaster in January 2013, becoming the 30th player from India to do so. He is the fourth Indian player to have crossed the Elo rating of 2700. He became the third Indian to qualify for the Candidates tournament by winning Grand Swiss 2023.

On April 20, 2022, Zhansaya became the President of the Almaty Chess Federation.
Gunay Vugar qizi Mammadzada is an Azerbaijani chess player who holds the titles of International Master (IM) and Woman Grandmaster (WGM) through the International Chess Federation (FIDE). She has been an under-10 girls' World Youth Champion, and both an under-8 and an under-14 girls' European Youth Champion. Mammadzada is a two-time Azerbaijani women's national champion, which she achieved in 2017 and 2019. She has represented Azerbaijan at the Chess Olympiad, the World Team Chess Championship, and the European Team Chess Championship, winning both team and individual bronze medals at the latter in 2019. Mammadzada has a peak FIDE rating of 2483 and has been ranked as high as No. 18 in the world among women.

The U.S. Masters Championship is an official national chess championship sanctioned by US Chess that has been held 27 times since 1982. The event is a Swiss tournament usually restricted to players who have established peak ratings over 2200, plus high rated junior players, at the discretion of the organizer. As a primarily masters-only event, the U.S. Masters is one of the strongest Swiss tournaments in the U.S., offering FIDE title norms and large cash prizes to participants. Throughout its history, the event has always placed a premium on inviting foreign titled players to compete against American masters. The U.S. Masters has been dubbed "The Annual Homecoming of the American Master," and has previously been a qualifying tournament to the U.S. Championship.
