Dylan Jacobs (born June 15, 2000) [1] is an American distance runner who competed for Notre Dame and the Tennessee Volunteers in college before turning pro and signing with On. [2] He is a three-time NCAA Champion.
Jacobs attended Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park, Illinois. His sophomore year, Jacobs, was part of the team that won the state cross country meet and helped the team to a fourth-place finish at Nike Cross Nationals. His junior year, he finished 13th at the Nike Cross Nationals Championship. After which, he finished 11th at the Footlocker Nationals and followed it up with a second place finish in the 4×800 relay and was all state in the 1600m at the Illinois state meet. As a Senior he was the 2017 Footlocker Nationals individual champion, and won the 1600m and 4×800 relay at the Illinois state meet. [3]
Notre Dame
In Jacobs freshman year at Notre Dame he ran the 1200m leg of their NCAA Championship winning DMR team alongside Edward Cheatham, Samuel Voelz and Yared Nuguse. The following indoor season that same team ran the NCAA's second fastest DMR ever at the Alex Wilson Invitational.
Jacobs finished his junior year of cross country by placing 20th at the NCAA Championships helping the Irish run to a second place finish behind Northern Arizona. That spring in track he finished 11th at the NCAA Championships running a 13:25.65 5,000m to break the school record.
In his final year at Notre Dame Dylan finished 10th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. [3] He finished his time at Notre Dame by winning the 10,000m at the NCAA Championships. During the race Jacobs fell down but got back up and passed Abdihamid Nur during a 55.45 second last lap finishing in a time of 28:12.32. [4]
Transfer to Tennessee
In June 2022 Jacobs coach at Notre Dame, Sean Carlson, announced he was leaving Notre Dame to coach at the University of Tennessee. [5] In July, Jacobs announced via his Instagram [6] that he was transferring to the Tennessee. That fall, he finished 4th place at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. [7]
Tennessee
Jacobs started his 2023 Indoor season by running 13:11.01 at the Terrier Classic on January 27, which at the time was the third fastest collegiate mark ever. Two weeks later he ran the second fastest collegiate 3000m by finishing in 7:36.89 at the Millrose Games. His time was less than half a second off the record which was set two weeks earlier by Northern Arizona runner Drew Bosley. [8]
Jacobs won the SEC championship in the DMR and 3000m.
At the NCAA Indoor Championships Jacobs took the lead in the 5000m with 450 meters to go and ultimately won the race in 13:37.59, a facility and NCAA altitude record. [9] Later in the meet he finished 6th in the 3000m by running 7:52.25. Following the meet, the USTFCCA named him the South Region Men's Track Athlete of the Year for the 2022-23 indoor season. [10]
On July 5, 2023 Jacobs announced that he had signed a professional contract with On but was going to stay in Knoxville to continue being coached by Sean Carlson. [11]

Jordan Melissa Hogan is an American distance runner. She attended Mission College Preparatory High School in San Luis Obispo and was unanimously selected 2008 Girls High School Athlete of the Year by the voting panel at Track and Field News. In March 2009, she became the ninth high school athlete and third woman on the cover of Track and Field News magazine.
David Bishop is an international middle-distance running athlete representing Great Britain, and was an All-American at the University of New Mexico. He was the 2013 UK National 3000m Champion and was the 2007 British University (BUCS) 3000m Indoor Champion, whilst he attended the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff.
Angela BizzarriPflugrath is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) and a former American distance runner. She competed for the University of Illinois (2006–2010) and won three NCAA national championships: in Cross Country, as well as in the 5000 meters (outdoor) and 3000 meters (indoor). As an Illini she earned nine All-American honours and five Big Ten Conference titles. She also holds Illini records in the 1500 meters, 3000 meters, 5000 meters (outdoor), 5000 meters (indoor), the mile, and, in Cross Country, the 6000 meters.

Craig Engels is an American middle-distance runner. He competed for the United States at the 2013 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships, where he won the men's 1500 meters. In the 2016 USA Olympic Trials Engels was focused on making the semi-finals of the 800m and was listed as an alternate for the 1500m. He finished 4th in the 800m final and 5th in the 1500m final, missing out on the Olympics in both events.
Emily Sisson is an American long-distance runner. She set the North American record in the marathon on October 9, 2022, when she ran 2:18:29 to finish second at the Chicago Marathon. Sisson also held the American record in the half marathon from May 2022 until July 2023. She represented the United States in the 10000 metres at the 2017 and 2019 World Athletics Championships, finishing 9th and 10th. In June 2021, she won the 10000m at the 2020 US Olympic Trials and placed 10th in the 10000m final at the 2020 Summer Olympics. In 2024, she placed second in the marathon at the US Olympic Trials, qualifying for the 2024 Summer Olympics. She competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics Women's marathon on 11 August 2024, where she finished 23rd.
Molly Seidel is an American long distance runner. Seidel represented the United States at the Great Edinburgh Cross Country in 2012, 2013, and 2018. In her first-ever marathon, Seidel placed second at the 2020 U.S. Marathon Olympic Trials. Later, she went on to win the bronze medal in her third career marathon at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. At the University of Notre Dame, Seidel was a 4-time NCAA champion, 6-time NCAA All-American, 6-time Atlantic Coast Conference champion and 2016 female ACC Athlete of the Year.
Anna Rohrer is an American long-distance runner and former student-athlete at the University of Notre Dame. She won four high school national championships and was named the Foot Locker female cross country athlete of the year in 2015.
Karissa Schweizer is an American middle- and long-distance runner, Olympian and World Record holder in the women's 4x1500 meters relay. She competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the 5000 meters and 10,000 meters events finishing 11th and 12th, respectively. In 2020, she set the indoor 3000 meters American Record with a time of 8:25.70.

Joe Klecker is an American long-distance runner. After a successful collegiate career with the Colorado Buffaloes he turned professional in 2020 joining the On Athletics Club coached by Dathan Ritzenhein. Klecker holds personal bests of 3:37.00 for 1500m, 7:34.14 for 3000m, 12:54.99 for 5000m, and 27:07.57 for 10000m, all set as a part of the On Athletics Club.
Cooper Teare is an American middle- and long-distance runner. He is a two-time national champion, securing victories in the 1500 metres at the 2022 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and in the 2024 USA Cross Country Championships. Teare has represented the United States at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships, and the 2017 Pan American U20 Athletics Championships, where he earned a bronze medal in the 1500 m.
Yared Nuguse is an American professional middle-distance runner who specializes in the 1500 meters. He was the 2019 NCAA Division I champion in the event and bronze medalist from the 2024 Summer Olympics. Nuguse is the North American outdoor record holder over the one mile distance, and the North American indoor record holder for the 1500 meters, one mile and 3000 meters.
Nicolas Young is an American long-distance runner. He is a two-time NCAA champion having won both the 3000 m and 5000 m at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships while competing for Northern Arizona University. He also holds the collegiate records in the 5000 m (12:57.14) and 10,000 m (26:52.72), both set in 2024. He came out as gay in 2022.
George Beamish is a New Zealand middle- and long-distance runner, who won the 1500 metres at the 2024 World Indoor Championships. He holds the Oceania area record in the 3000 m steeplechase of 8:09.64 and the New Zealand record in the indoor 3000 m and 5000 m. He finished fifth at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in the 3000 m steeplechase.
Samuel Prakel is an American middle- and long-distance runner, who competes for Adidas. His personal best time in the indoor mile is 3:50.94, tied for 13th all-time. He competed collegiately for the Oregon Ducks, where he was a five-time All American and won the 1500m at the 2018 Pac-12 Championships.
