Devendra Triguna is an Indian Ayurveda practitioner, known for his expertise in Pulse diagnosis (Nadi vaidyam in Ayurvedic terms). [1] He is a former honorary physician to the President of India [2] and the incumbent president of the Association of Manufacturers of Ayurvedic Medicine (AMAM) [3] and the All India Ayurvedic Congress (AIAC). [1] The Government of India awarded him the fourth-highest civilian award, the Padma Shri, in 1999, and followed it up, a decade later, with the third-highest honour of the Padma Bhushan in 2009. Biography

Tiriguna was born in a family of traditional Ayurveda practitioner, to renowned Ayurvedic physician and Padma Vibhushan awardee, Brihaspati Dev Triguna and learned Ayurveda from his father. [5] He started his medical practice at his father's clinic, located in the periphery of New Delhi, in a village by name, Sarai Kale Khan. When Triguna retired from active practice shortly before his death in 2013, Devendra Triguna took over the management of the clinic. [6] He claims to have curative protocols for several diseases such as Blood cancer, kidney ailments, abdominal diseases, skin diseases, Spondylitis, asthma, arthritis, insomnia and Hyper tension. [7]

Triguna is the president of the All India Ayurvedic Congress [1] and the vice president of Central Council of Indian Medicines, a Government of India nodal agency. He sits in the Central Council for Research in Ayurveda of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Ayurveda Pharmacopoeia Committee of the Government of India. [3] He presides over the governing body of the Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth, a Government of India centre of higher learning for Ayurveda [8] and the founder president of the International Ayurveda Congress. [9] He sits in the Ayurveda advisory committees of the Governments of Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh and serves as a member of the Employees' State Insurance Corporation, Board of Ayurveda and Unani Tibbia College and the board of directors of Oriental Bank of Commerce. He is also a former member of the Board of Directors of the Punjab National Bank and a is a visiting faculty of Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya. [3]

Triguna is an elected Fellow of the Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (1995-95). [10] The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri in 1999 and he was included again in the 2009 Republic Day honours list for the third highest honour, Padma Bhushan. [4] He has also been honoured by Lal Bahadur Shastri University and Gujarat Ayurveda University with DLitt degrees. [3]

As an active practitioner of the ancient science of Ayurveda (healing), he is known in the national and international arenas of alternate medicines and has presented numerous papers. He has held a number of conferences in India. He was, a Ph.D guide in the University of Mumbai.

Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala is an Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical company situated in Thaikkattussery, near Ollur. It is managed by Thaikkattusseri Eledathu Thaikkattu Family, one among the Ashtavaidya families of Kerala. Vaidyaratnam runs a NABH accredited nursing home by name Vaidyaratnam Nursing Home and an Ayurvedic Medical College apart from two ISO certified manufacturing plants in Thrissur and an R&D centre in Thaikkattussery, under the flagship of Vaidyaratnam. .

Eledath Thaikkattu Narayanan Mooss was an Ayurvedic physician and the Chief Physician and Managing Partner of Vaidyaratnam Oushadhasala. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2010 for his contribution to the field of medicine specific to Ayurveda.

He is the founder of Pankajakasthuri Herbals, This is a business group that contributed to the promotion and popularising of Ayurveda and ayurvedic products across the country. The Government of India, in 2012, honored him with Padma Shri for his services to the cause of Ayurveda.

SKM Maeilanandhan, is an Indian industrialist and founder of S. K. M. Group of companies. He was honoured by the Government of India, in 2013, by bestowing on him the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, for his contributions to the field of social service.

Krishna Chandra Chunekar was an Indian ayurvedic practitioner and writer, known for the books he published, especially the translation of Vedic literature on herbal pharmacopeia. The Government of India awarded him, in 2013, the Padma Shri in medicine, the fourth highest civilian award, for his contributions.

Prabhakar Vaidya is an Indian physical educationist, academic and the honorary secretary of Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal, a century-old organization and a national institution working towards modernizing the traditional systems of Sports & Games. He was honored by the Government of India, in 2012, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri.

Kodethur Narasimha Udupa (1920–1992) was an Indian surgeon, medical administrator, a pioneer of integrative medicine and the founder director of the Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Born in Udupi in the South Indian state of Karnataka, His father was Tamayya Udupa scholar in Sanskrit and Jyotish belonging to Shivalli brahmin community. He passed his bachelor's degree in Ayurvedic Medicine (AMS) from Banares Hindu University, secured his master's degree (MS) from the University of Michigan in 1948 and passed FRCS examination from Canada.

Vaidya Balendu Prakash is an Indian Ayurveda practitioner. He is a former physician to the President of India and the founder of Paadav, a specialty Ayurvedic hospital in Dehradun. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian award of the Padma Shri in 1999.

Paneenazhikath Narayana Vasudeva Kurup was an Indian Ayurvedic practitioner, researcher, writer and the founder director of the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRIMH). He is a former vice chancellor of the Gujarat Ayurved University, Jamnagar and a former advisor of the Indian Systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy (ISM&H) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. He has published several articles and a book, A Handbook on Indian Medicinal Plants, on the traditional Indian medicine system, The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2005, for his contributions to Indian medicine.

P. R. Krishna Kumar was an Indian Ayurveda expert and managing director of The Arya Vaidya Pharmacy (Coimbatore) Ltd. He founded the AVP Research Foundation, a non-profit organisation promoting research in the Ayurveda. He was the chancellor of the Avinashilingam University, and the chairman of CARe Keralam, a resource centre involved in efforts to standardise Ayurvedic medicines. The Government of India awarded him the fourth-highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2009, for his contributions to Ayurveda.

Ram Harsh Singh is an Indian practitioner of the Ayurveda system of alternative medicine and the founder vice chancellor of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan Rajasthan Ayurved University. An Emeritus Professor of Banaras Hindu University and a National Professor of the Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India, he was conferred with the fourth highest civilian honour of Padma Shri, in 2016.

Satya Narayana Shastri was an Indian physician of Ayurveda and a Sanskrit scholar. Born in 1887 in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, he was the first honorary physician to Rajendra Prasad, the first president of India. He wrote the introduction of Charaka Samhita, when it was published in 1962. He served as the principal of Ayurveda College of Banaras Hindu University and Government Ayurveda College of Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya. The Government of India awarded him Padma Bhushan, the third highest Indian civilian award, in 1954.

Gurdip Singh is a professor from Gwalior, India. He is a senior professor of Ayurveda and the Director of Post Graduate Studies at the SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital in Hassan, Karnataka. He is considered an authority on the Ayurveda work Charaka Samhita. Singh was a dean of Institute for Post Graduate Teaching and Research in Ayurveda at Gujarat Ayurved University at Jamnagar, Gujarat.

Avadh Kishore Jadia is a poet and author in the Bundeli language and the Braj language from the Chhatarpur district in the Indian State of Madhya Pradesh. He was also an Ayurveda medical practitioner in the Madhya Pradesh Govt Service. In the year 2022, Govt of India honored him by conferring the Padma Shri award for his contributions as an author in the Bundeli and Braj languages.
