Cameron Dean Fletcher (born 1 March 1993) is a New Zealand cricketer who currently plays for Auckland. [1] He has previously represented Canterbury and Northern Districts.
Cameron Fletcher was born in Auckland,New Zealand. As a teenager he attended Kelston Boys' High School. [2]
Fletcher began his domestic career with Northern Districts,making his First-class and List A debuts for them in February 2013.
He was then awarded a contract to play for Canterbury for the 2014–15 season. [3]
In March 2018,in the 2017–18 Plunket Shield season,Fletcher scored his maiden century in first-class cricket. [4] In June 2018,he was awarded a contract with Canterbury for the 2018–19 season. [5] In June 2020,Fletcher was offered a contract by Canterbury ahead of the 2020–21 domestic cricket season. [6] [7]
Ahead of the 2023/24 season,Fletcher signed with Auckland,after spending 10 years with Canterbury. [8]
In 2024,Fletcher joined Derbyshire for the Vitality Blast, [9] [10] having represented Glamorgan in the previous year's tournament. [11]
In 2012,Fletcher was named in the New Zealand Under-19 squad,alongside future Black Caps Will Young,Ish Sodhi and Jacob Duffy. The squad went to Australia for both a quadrangular series against England,India and the hosts,and the Under-19 World Cup. He scored 49 in a last-ball victory over the West Indies in the quarter-finals, [12] and 53 as New Zealand were beaten by India in the semi-finals. [13]
In February 2022,Fletcher was named in New Zealand's Test squad for their series against South Africa. [14] In May 2022,he was named in New Zealand's Test squad for their tour of England. [15] However,he did not play in either series.
In August 2022,Fletcher was named in the New Zealand A squad to tour India. [16]
Todd Duncan Astle is a former New Zealand cricketer who played for the New Zealand national cricket team. Astle began his cricket career as an opening batsman,representing New Zealand in the 2006 Under-19 Cricket World Cup,but over time playing first-class cricket for Canterbury,he morphed into a bowling all-rounder. He made his Test cricket debut for New Zealand in 2012 in Sri Lanka,but did not play another international match until 2015. He represented New Zealand in all three forms of the game,but was unable to keep a consistent place in the team in any format because of regular injury problems and competition with other spin bowlers. In January 2020,Astle retired from first-class cricket to focus on limited-overs cricket. In February 2023 he retired from all forms of professional cricket.
Ken McClure is a New Zealand first-class cricketer who plays for Canterbury. He made his first-class debut on 15 October 2015 in the 2015–16 Plunket Shield. He made his List A debut on 17 January 2016 in the 2015–16 Ford Trophy. In March 2018,he scored his maiden double century in first-class cricket,batting for Canterbury in the 2017–18 Plunket Shield season.
Michael Gordon Bracewell is a New Zealand cricketer who plays for Wellington. He is the nephew of former Test players Brendon and John Bracewell,and the cousin of current international player Doug Bracewell and comedian Melanie Bracewell. He attended Kavanagh College in Dunedin. He made his international debut for the New Zealand cricket team in March 2022.
