Birtukan Adamu Ali (born 29 April 1992) is an Ethiopian runner competing primarily in the 3000 metres steeplechase. [1] She represented her country at the 2011 World Championships finishing twelfth. She is the current world junior record holder in the event.

Wioletta Frankiewicz is a Polish runner. She competes in the 1500 metres, but she competes also in the 3000 metre steeplechase event, as she did in the 10th IAAF World Championships in Athletics in Helsinki, Finland. She weighs 58 kilograms and is 1.77 metres tall. She won National Indoor Championships in 2003. She also won the National outdoor championships in 2004 and in 2005.
The 3000 metres steeplechase or 3000-meter steeplechase is the most common distance for the steeplechase in track and field. It is an obstacle race over the distance of the 3000 metres, which derives its name from the horse racing steeplechase.
Cristina Casandra, née Iloc is a Romanian long-distance runner who specializes mainly in the 3000 metres steeplechase. She took up the event in 2000, having initially specialized in the 5000 metres.

Fionnuala McCormack is an Irish runner who has competed at a range of distance running events. She was the gold medallist at the 2011 and 2012 European Cross Country Championships. She has represented Ireland in the steeplechase at the 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2012 London Olympics, the 2007 World Championships in Athletics and 2011 World Championships in Athletics, and twice at the European Athletics Championships. In December 2012, Britton became the first woman to successfully defend the European Cross Country Championship.
Ancuța Bobocel is a Romanian middle-distance runner who specializes in the 3000 metres steeplechase. She represented Romania at the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics and is a three-time participant at the World Championships in Athletics. Harriet "Hatti" Archer is a British long-distance runner who competes in cross country and steeplechase. She competed at five World Cross Country Championships between 2005 and 2011, with her best result being 15th in Mombasa in 2007. Norah Jeruto Tanui is a Kazakhstani long-distance runner specialising in the steeplechase. She won the gold medal in the 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2022 World Championships, becoming the first athlete representing Kazakhstan to win a title at the World Athletics Championships and setting a championship record in the process. Jeruto took gold in the event at the 2016 African Championships in Athletics.
The women's 3000 metres steeplechase at the 2017 World Championships in Athletics was held at the London Olympic Stadium on 9 and 11 August.
