William Benjamin Jefferson (born January 15, 1966) is a former American football offensive linemen who played one season with the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Maryland. [2] [3] He was also a member of the Indianapolis Colts of the NFL, the Ohio Glory of the World League of American Football (WLAF), and the Las Vegas Posse and Shreveport Pirates of the Canadian Football League (CFL). The 1920 APFA season was the inaugural season of the American Professional Football Association, renamed the National Football League in 1922. John Larry Jefferson is an American former professional football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football with the Arizona State Sun Devils, he was selected in the first round of the 1978 NFL draft by the San Diego Chargers. He played three seasons in San Diego, where he became the first NFL player to gain 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first three seasons. He was traded to the Green Bay Packers after a contract dispute with the Chargers, and later finished his playing career with the Cleveland Browns.
