The T-Mobile Match Play is a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour in Las Vegas, Nevada. It debuted on the LPGA Tour in 2021 at the Shadow Creek Golf Course as the only match play tournament on the schedule.

Contents

The title sponsor of the tournament is Bank of Hope, a Los Angeles–based Asian-American bank in the United States. [1] Bank of Hope previously sponsored the LPGA Founders Cup from 2017 to 2019. [1]

This is the first match play tournament on the LPGA Tour since the Lorena Ochoa Invitational in 2017. [2]

Ally Ewing won the inaugural event. [3]

In 2020, the tournament was moved to Shadow Creek Golf Course in North Las Vegas, Nevada as part of a Las Vegas Swing in October due to COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions. In 2021, plans to return to South Korea were abandoned with the tournament remaining in the Las Vegas area, but moving to The Summit Club in Summerlin. For 2022, the event was held at Congaree Golf Club in Gillisonville, South Carolina, near Hilton Head Island.

The Match is a series of exhibition match play golf challenge matches that began in 2018. The event features major professional golfers or other notable athletes facing each other in a head-to-head competition. The format has varied throughout the run of the event; in all of the events, sports entertainment elements were included, particularly with the inclusion of sports betting elements in that the contestants wager portions of their prize on side bets during the contest. TNT Sports has televised all eight iterations of the event. Since 2020, two iterations of The Match have been held each year, alternating between contests involving professional golfers and contests involving celebrity athletes from other sports, with or without golf professionals; one of the two contests is traditionally held on the weekend before or after Thanksgiving.
