The 2023 Great Yarmouth Borough Council election took place on 4 May 2023 to elect members of Great Yarmouth Borough Council in Norfolk, England. [1] This was on the same day as other local elections in England.
Prior to the election the council was under Conservative majority control. The Conservatives remained the largest party after the election, but lost their majority leaving the council under no overall control. A minority Conservative administration formed after the election with the support of the two independent councillors. [2] [3]

The Borough of Great Yarmouth is a local government district with borough status in Norfolk, England. It is named after its main town, Great Yarmouth, and also contains the town of Gorleston-on-Sea and a number of villages and rural areas, including part of The Broads. Other notable settlements include Caister-on-Sea, Hemsby, Hopton-on-Sea and Winterton-on-Sea.
Great Yarmouth Borough Council elections are held every four years to elect Great Yarmouth Borough Council in Norfolk, England. Since the last boundary changes in 2004, 39 councillors have been elected from 17 wards. Prior to 2019 elections were held three years out of every four for a third of the council at a time.
The 2010 Great Yarmouth Borough Council election took place on 6 May 2010 to elect members of Great Yarmouth Borough Council in Norfolk, England. One third of the council was up for election and the Conservative Party stayed in overall control of the council.
The elections to South Norfolk District Council were held on Thursday 5 May 2011 along with various other local elections around England, elections to the Scottish Parliament, National Assembly of Wales and Northern Ireland Assembly, and a referendum on whether to adopt the Alternative Vote electoral system for elections to the House of Commons. All 46 council seats were up for election. The previous council was controlled by the Conservatives, with the Liberal Democrats being the only opposition.
