The 2023 Brisbane Lions season was the club's 27th season of senior competition in the Australian Football League (AFL). The Lions were captained by Harris Andrews and Lachie Neale. This was the first year of their co-captaincy. Chris Fagan completed his seventh season as the senior coach of the Brisbane Lions.

Travis Alexander Boak is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Boak captained the club from 2013 to 2018, and is the club's AFL games record holder with 355 games. He is also a three-time All-Australian, dual John Cahill Medallist and three-time Showdown Medallist.
Thomas Rockliff is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club and previously played for the Brisbane Lions Football Club for 154 games between 2009 and 2017. In 2008 Rockliff, a medium-sized, smart and creative forward, was the leading goalkicker in the TAC Cup with 59 goals and won the Murray Bushrangers' best and fairest award, but was overlooked in the main draft. He was, however, drafted by the Brisbane Lions with the fifth selection in the 2009 pre-season draft. He served as the captain of the Brisbane Lions in 2015 and 2016.
The QClash is the name given to the Australian rules football rivalry match between the Brisbane Lions and Gold Coast Suns, who both participate in the Australian Football League (AFL). The first men's QClash was held in 2011, with Gold Coast winning by 8 points at home. The game achieved the record for the highest pay TV viewing audience ever for an AFL game, with a total of 354,745 viewers tuning in to watch the game on Foxtel channel Fox Footy.

Jarryd Lyons is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). He previously played for the Adelaide Football Club from 2011 to 2016 and the Gold Coast Suns from 2017 to 2018.
Dayne Zorko is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League (AFL). Zorko is a five-time Merrett–Murray Medallist and was selected in the 2017 All-Australian team. He was also the Lions' leading goalkicker in 2016 and 2017. Zorko served as Brisbane Lions captain from 2018 to 2022.
