The 2022 Kazakhstan Premier League was the 31st season of the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest football league competition in Kazakhstan. FC Tobol were the defending champions after winning their second title the previous season.
On 11 March, Shakhter Karagandy were awarded a 3-0 technical victory over Astana after Astana fielded seven foreign players on the pitch at the same time during their match on 5 March 2022. [3]
FC Kaisar (relegated after five years in the top flight) and Zhetysu (relegated after four years in the top flight) were relegated at the end of the 2021 season. They were replaced by Aksu and Maktaaral from the Kazakhstan First League (both promoted to the top division for the first time in their history).

Astana were the defending champions having won their second league championship the previous year, and they successfully defended their title this season. The season began on 12 March 2016 and concluded on 29 October 2016; the relegation play-off took place on 5 November 2016.

The 2021 FC Shakhter Karagandy season was the 31st successive season that the club played in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan. Shakhter Karagandy finished the season in sixth position. where runners up in the Kazakhstan Cup and were knocked out of the Europa Conference League by Maccabi Tel Aviv at the Play Off stage.
The 2021 FC Aktobe season was Aktobe's 1st season back in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan, following their relegation from the league in 2019.
The 2021 FC Turan season is Turan's the first season in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan, since 2001. Turan will also take part in the Kazakhstan Cup.
The 2022 FC Astana season was the fourteenth successive season that FC Astana will play in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan. They finished as Champions of the Premier League, having finished second the previous season behind Tobol. Astana also reached the Semifinals of the Kazakhstan Cup where they were knocked out by Ordabasy, and the Second Qualifying round of the Europa Conference League where they were defeated by Raków Częstochowa.

The 2022 FC Kairat season was the 12th successive season that the club played in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan, since their promotion back to the top flight in 2009. Kairat finished the Premier League season in 4th position, missing out on European competition for the first time since 2013. In the domestic cups, Kairat reached the Quarterfinals of the Kazakhstan Cup, and where runners-up to Tobol in the season opening Super Cup. In Europe, Kairat entered and were knocked out of the Europa Conference League in the Second qualifying round by Kisvárda.
The 2023 FC Tobol season was the 25th successive season that the club played in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan. Tobol finished the season in eighth place and won the Kazakhstan Cup, qualifying for the 2024–25 UEFA Europa League. Tobol also participated in the UEFA Europa Conference League were they reached the Playoff Round before being eliminated by Viktoria Plzeň.
