The 2014 World Short Track Speed Skating Championships took place from 14 to 17 March 2014 at the Maurice-Richard Arena in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. They were the 39th World Short Track Speed Skating Championships, the fifth to be held in Canada and the third to be held in Montreal.

Results

The Overall World Champion is determined by adding the points received by the athletes taking part in the final of each event; points are not awarded for any races other than the event finals.

For each final race: 34 points are awarded for first place, 21 points for second place, 13 points for third place, 8 points for fourth place, 5 points for fifth place, 3 points for sixth place, 2 points for seventh place, and 1 point is awarded for eighth place. In the 3000 m super-final, an additional 5 points are awarded to the athlete who is leading the race after the first 1000 m. The relay events do not count towards the overall classification.

The athlete with the second most points wins the overall silver medal, and the next highest point scorer wins overall bronze.

Short-track speed skating is a form of competitive ice speed skating. In competitions, multiple skaters skate on an oval ice track with a length of 111.111 metres (364.54 ft). The 2021–22 ISU Short Track Speed Skating World Cup is a multi-race tournament over a season for short track speed skating. The season began on 21 October 2021 in China and ended on 28 November 2021 in Netherlands. Four Continents Short Track Speed Skating Championships is an annual short-track speed-skating competition. It was established by the International Skating Union in 2019 to allow athletes from outside Europe to compete at the event. Its inaugural event was held in 2020, while its second and third editions were cancelled in 2021 and 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The second edition of the event was held from 10–12 November 2022 in Salt Lake City, United States of America. The 2025 edition, scheduled for November 2024, was cancelled due to track safety concerns.

The 2024–25 ISU Short Track World Tour is a multi-race series over a season of short track speed skating, organised by the International Skating Union (ISU), which organised also runs world cups and championships in speed skating and figure skating. It is the 1st edition of the ISU Short Track World Tour, and is planned to commence on 25 October 2024 and end on 16 February 2025.
