The 2013 WNBA season is the 8th season for the Chicago Sky of the Women's National Basketball Association.
With the addition of Elena Delle Donne, expectations were high for the Sky to finally reach the playoffs. Delle Donne, along with Sylvia Fowles, Epiphanny Prince, Courtney Vandersloot, and Swin Cash finished the regular season with the best record in the Eastern Conference - thus giving the Sky, their first regular season Conference title and the first seed in the 2013 WNBA Playoffs. The Sky were ultimately swept in the Conference Semifinals by the Indiana Fever.

The Washington Mystics are an American professional basketball team based in Washington, D.C. The Mystics compete in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) as a member club of the league's Eastern Conference. Elena Delle Donne is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Delle Donne played college basketball for the Delaware Blue Hens from 2009 to 2013. She was drafted by the Chicago Sky with the second overall pick of the 2013 WNBA draft, and led the Sky to the 2014 WNBA Finals, where they were defeated by the Phoenix Mercury. Delle Donne was traded to the Washington Mystics in 2017 and led them to their first WNBA championship in 2019.

The team couldn't recover its form for the rest of the season finishing a combined 7–15 in the last three months of the season. Their final record of 12–22 placed them 5th in the Eastern Conference, and failed to qualify the team for the playoffs.
