The 1912 Copa de Honor Cousenier was the final match to decide the winner of the Copa de Honor Cousenier, the 8th. edition of the international competition organised by the Argentine and Uruguayan Associations together. The final was contested by Uruguayan side River Plate and Argentine Racing Club de Avellaneda. [1]
The match was held in the Estadio Gran Parque Central in Montevideo, on December 8, 1912. River Plate beat Racing Club 2–1, [2] winning its first and only Copa Cousenier trophy. [3] [4]

Club Nacional de Football is a Uruguayan professional sports club based in Montevideo.
Racing Club de Avellaneda, officially known as Racing Club or shortened to just Racing, is an Argentine professional sports club based in Avellaneda, a city of the Buenos Aires Province. Founded in 1903, Racing has been historically considered one of the "big five" clubs of Argentine football, and is also known as "El Primer Grande", for becoming the first club in the world to win seven league titles in a row, first Argentine club to win a national cup, and the first world champion Argentine club. Racing currently plays in the Primera División, the top division of the Argentine league system, and plays its home games at Estadio Presidente Perón, nicknamed El Cilindro de Avellaneda.
River Plate Football Club was a Uruguayan football club, founded in 1897. River Plate is considered one of the four giants of the first era in Uruguayan football, alongside rivals Montevideo Wanderers and the current big two: CURCC (Peñarol) and Nacional. River reached important achievements during the first years of football in the country. In fact, the national side's uniform is a light blue ("celeste") shirt in tribute to River Plate victory over Argentine team Alumni, when the squad had to wear an alternate jersey to solve a color similarity between both teams.

1913 in Argentine football saw Racing Club de Avellaneda win its first league championship. The team also won the Copa Ibarguren, the Copa de Honor Municipalidad de Buenos Aires and the Copa de Honor Cousenier.
1914 in Argentine football saw Racing Club win its second consecutive Primera División title, apart from winning its second successive Copa Ibarguren. Porteño won the dissident FAF championship, the last tournament before both leagues AFA and FAF reunified. Abdón Porte was a Uruguayan footballer who played as defensive midfielder. Nicknamed El Indio he won many titles with his club Nacional, and also a Copa América with the Uruguay national team. He committed suicide on 5 March 1918, by shooting himself in the center of the field at Estadio Gran Parque Central, an incident still remembered by the sport community of Uruguay.
