It has been a pleasure advising AGG-PRO, the UK’s leading specialist in aggregate crushing, screening, and recycling machinery, on their sale to SMT GB, a global leader in earthmoving equipment (Volvo Construction Equipment). Agg-Pro has built an enviable reputation for exceptional service and support, providing an extensive range of crushing, screening, recycling, and washing equipment to the aggregate, processing, and recycling sectors. The team at Agg-Pro brings invaluable industry expertise and will provide SMT with a strong platform for future growth. We are excited to see the company play a significant role in supporting OEM sustainability and ESG initiatives across infrastructure, construction, and waste management sectors. This transaction would not have been possible within such a short timeframe without the commitment and teamwork from Agg-Pro management, SMT, and all the professionals involved. Special thanks to my co-pilot, Mark Rowntree, for his unwavering support, as well as super-FD Lisa Vernon, buy-side M&A Advisor Nicolas Galoppin and SMT Leadership team(Jerome Barioz,Matthieu Bocquet, CFA, Nick Allen), who were instrumental in making this transaction happen. From instigating the original MBO in 2019 (working alongside buy-out specialist Adam Rowlands), we have continued to support Agg-Pro’s journey with growth capital, refinancing, and its sale requirements. We are delighted to see Agg-Pro find a good home with SMT. Agg-Pro proudly announces that it has been acquired by SMT GB. The move is a part of SMT’s growth strategy and Agg-Pro has proven to be the right company to enable SMT to secure its place in the world of crushing and screening. Since its establishment in 1996, Agg-Pro has emerged as a leading provider of crushing, screening, washing, and recycling equipment throughout the UK. Its founder, Geoff Caves, has meticulously developed the business into a successful operation, supported by a long-standing team of dedicated employees and a wide range of suppliers, including McCloskey International, GIPO, Jonsson, Lippmann, McCloskey Environmental, Tesab, MWS and CRS NI. Geoff and the Agg-Pro team have been working tirelessly to prepare the business for future growth over the past three years. “After careful consideration”, Geoff states, “we have chosen to sell the business to SMT, viewing this as a key step to unlock Agg-Pro’s potential as an industry leader. I am confident this is the right step with a strong cultural fit.” Agg-Pro will operate as a subsidiary of SMT GB, ensuring a smooth transition for customers. CEO of SMT GB, Nick Allen, states, “The acquisition of Agg-Pro marks a significant step in the growth strategy of SMT in Great Britain. The company is an excellent fit with SMT in terms of its customer-focused culture, complementing our existing business.” SMT GB will provide a wealth of knowledge, ambition and resources to enable Agg-Pro to develop it’s outstanding reputation in the industry.
