Professor of Urban Policy and Director, Urban Futures Enabling Impact Platform, RMIT University

Jago Dodson is Professor of Urban Policy at RMIT University and works in the Research and Innovation Portfolio as the Director of the Urban Futures Enabling Impact Platform.

Jago’s research has addressed a wide range of problems in Australian and New Zealand urban policy, including investigations of housing policy, transport planning, infrastructure development and urban governance. He has produced more than 120 scholarly publications including journal articles, book chapters and books. Jago has led significant grants, having been named on research funded research proposals worth more than AU$20 million, including ARC, AHURI, NHRA, iMove CRC, Horizon 2020 and AURIN schemes. He has also been a regular contributor to public debates on urban issues, with more than 300 instances of media reportage. Jago has also led major urban research concentrations, including the Urban Research Program at Griffith University (2010-2014) and the Centre for Urban Research at RMIT University (2014-2023). Jago also provides regular consulting to global agencies such as UN Habitat.
