I am a glaciologist with a particular interest in the interactions between volcanoes and glaciers.

My research largely involves using remote sensing techniques to link climate and Earth Surface processes in many places globally including Antarctica, Greenland, Iceland, The Himalaya, Svalbard and Siberia. Most recently, my focus has turned to monitoring and predicting volcanic eruptions and their consequences by using glaciers as indicators of volcanic activity.
