You can add a Verified badge to a topic to indicate that it’s been manually reviewed for accuracy by a subject matter expert. Verified topics have an assigned list of editors to make sure the topic information stays accurate and up to date.

Note: You need to have at least Contributor permissions to verify topics.

Important: Verifying a topic requires republishing the topic page. This means that any verified topics that aren’t already published will become published topics.

  1. Go to the topic page of the topic that you want to verify.

  2. Select Edit to enter edit mode.

  3. Choose Topic details. This will open the Topic details pane.

  4. Move the Verify this topic toggle to Yes.

  5. Select Manage.

  6. Optionally, add a description that’s specific to the verification. For example, you could write what department verified the topic and who to contact with questions.

  7. Assign editors who can make changes to the topic. All assigned editors will receive an email notification.

    Notes:

    • The person who verifies the topic will be automatically assigned as an editor and can't be removed.

    • Knowledge managers are always able to edit the topic.

  8. Select Republish.

Manage verified topics

Assigned editors can add or remove other editors. They can also unmark the topic as verified if the topic is no longer meeting your organization’s standards for verification.

To remove or change a verifier, the new verifier must be in the assigned editors list or a knowledge manager. The new verifier needs to unmark the topic as verified and verify it again.
