Apps and digital content, such as books, games, and movies, are connected to your Google Account, not just your device. If you get a new device, you don’t have to buy them again. You can use them on multiple devices.
Important:- If you have multiple accounts on your device, before you complete your purchase, make sure you’re signed in to the account you want to use. You can’t transfer content between accounts on Google Play.
- If you purchased an app on the wrong account, contact the app developer. They may give you a refund for your purchase.
Use your phone or tablet to install an app on another device
To install an app on another Android device, such as a watch, TV, or car:
- Open the Google Play Store .
- To find an app or content you want to install, search or browse.
- Select the item.
- Next to “Install,” select the down arrow.
- Select the checkbox for each device on which you want to install the app.
- Tap Install.
Tip: To find an app that’s compatible with a specific device, use the device search filters in the Google Play Store.
Use your computer to install an app on another device
To install an app on another Android device, such as a tablet, watch, TV, or car from your computer:
- Go to play.google.com.
- To find the app or content you want to install, search or browse.
- Select the item.
- Click Install.
- Tip: Under “Install,” Google Play will tell you whether the item is available for some, none, or all of your devices.
- To select the device on which you want to install the app, use the dropdown.
- Click Install.
Tip: To find an app that’s compatible with a specific device, use the device search filters in the Google Play Store.
Sync your apps across devices
When you turn on App sync, apps that you install on your phone or tablet can be automatically installed on other devices that are signed in with your Google Account. You can sync apps to other devices like your tablet, watch, Chromebook, or TV. If you use Android Automotive, you can also sync apps to your car.
To turn on App sync on your phone or tablet:
- Open the Google Play Store .
- Tap your Profile icon.
- Tap Manage apps & device Sync apps to devices.
- Select the devices that you want to sync to your apps.
Tips:
- To make it easier to identify your devices, you can rename them.
- To rename a device, go to https://play.google.com/library/devices. Then, edit the “Nickname.”
Remote uninstall apps across devices
You can seamlessly uninstall apps between devices from your phone.
To remotely uninstall apps with the use of your phone:
- Open Google Play Store .
- At the top right, tap your Profile picture.
- Tap Manage apps & device Manage.
- From the dropdown menu, select the device you want to uninstall apps from.
- Select the list of apps you want to uninstall.
- At the top right, tap Uninstall Uninstall.
Reinstall apps on a new or second device

Content can’t be transferred between accounts
If you own multiple accounts, you can’t transfer content between accounts on Google Play. If you have multiple accounts on your device, before you complete your purchase, make sure you’re signed in to the account you want to use.
