Welcome to Simple English Wikipedia

[change source]
Hi, Airplaneman, welcome to Simple English Wikipedia! Thank you for your changes. If you need help, check out the Help section of Wikipedia, or leave a message on my talk page. Whenever leaving messages on talk pages, please remember to sign your name by typing four 'tildes' (like this: ~~~~); doing this makes your name and the date show up. Also, it helps if you write something in the box that says 'edit summary' whenever you change an article. Below are some useful links to make your time here simpler. Happy editing! Hi! I granted you the tools. Happy editing here on simple. Regards, Barras (talk) 18:06, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you, I appreciate it. I'll do my best to improve this site! --70.17.205.58 (talk) 23:03, 11 June 2009 (UTC) <-- hehe, I forgot to log in. Now everyone knows my IP.[reply]

Wanted to say Hi to you Airplaneman. Hopefully, you'll like Simple. Pmlinediter  Talk 11:39, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I love Simple so far. I say hi, too!--Airplaneman (talk) 15:33, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I have created few PJO pages. Will you please assist me there? Also, why don't you join IRC? Pmlinediter  Talk 12:12, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sure.Airplaneman (talk) 14:07, 20 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Hehe, actually I liked it! But thanks for fixing it anyways! :-) Take care! fr33kman talk 03:08, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Percy Jackson

[change source]

Okay, so I moved this for you per your request on Pmlineditor's talk page and your reasoning that en.wiki has it this way. Apparently I should have double checked, as en.wiki has it as "Percy Jackson & the Olympians". Can you explain? Lauryn (utc) 23:32, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops... I should've double checked as well. (facepalm). It's fine either way; the "The" needed to be uncapitalized. In the title, it's spelled with "&" and not "and", but it should be fine either way. Thanks, Airplaneman talk 23:34, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No worries. I've stuck the article at Percy Jackson & the Olympians as that is the way that it is at en.wiki. Nice to meet you, as well, though I think we may have interacted a bit at en. I edit as "Katerenka" over there. :) Cheers, Lauryn (utc) 23:37, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah! Hello :). Thanks for moving it ;) Airplaneman talk 23:38, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Simplification

[change source]

Thanks for joining the WikiProject Simplification, and welcome aboard! Kansan (talk) 01:17, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Please tell me if I'm doing anything wrong; I'm used to en wiki :). Airplaneman talk 01:19, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You do good work. I did submit AirPort for deletion because I'm having a difficult time finding why they are notable. You are welcome to change the article or participate in the deletion discussion as you like. With respect, Jon@talk:~$ 02:34, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, will do. Thanks, Airplaneman talk 14:32, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm having similar issues with Xserve. Is there anything more we can add? Jon@talk:~$ 02:37, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. I'm modeling it off en:Xserve. Thanks, Airplaneman talk 14:32, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to stick a welcome template on my talk if you like. Brambleclawx (talk) 15:45, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind, someone already did. Brambleclawx (talk) 15:46, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm here!

[change source]

Wow, very different! Thanks for the welcome...I've replied on my page, but don't have a neat talkback tab to use to alert you :(. Anyway, I'll wander around the PJ articles and see what I can do. Percy Jackson and the Olympians:The Lightning Thief is copied directly from the en.wiki one, which is against policy, so it needs cleaning up. PrincessofLlyr (talk) 21:54, 18 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, they were all imported, per my request :). WP:HOW gives some guidelines on writing Simple English. Happy editing, Airplaneman talk 18:11, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm, is that allowed? I see this bold warning about not copying articles from the English Wikipedia because they are too complex. It would be easier, of course, but kind of defeats the purpose of Simple English! PrincessofLlyr (talk) 21:28, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You can't just copy and paste the articles like they are now. You can have somebody import them for you, move them to your user space, and work on them to make them simpler until they're good to go. Kansan (talk) 21:37, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! As this is the Simple English Wikipedia, we mainly use Basic English. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 20:58, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I ported Friendly here (User:PiRSquared17/friendly.js differs slightly from the original [uses "change" instead of "edit"]). The original is at User:Jeremjay24/friendly.js. πr2 (talk • changes) 21:11, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome! I'll definitely take a look at it; I've been missing some of the neat tools from en. PrincessofLlyr talk 23:40, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And I have WP:Qui, for anyone who wants to use it. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 23:42, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Oh cool! Thanks for dropping by my talk, guys :) Airplaneman 00:33, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Userboxes

[change source]

Kindly guide me how can I add wiki commons on my user page say I wish to add the common for being an Indian, a science populariser or a bool lover regards, Subzbharti (talk) 10:27, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I assume you're talking about Userboxes? The page should tell you about them. I'm not sure where to find the ones you are referring to - you can make them yourself, if you want, using Template:Userbox.
Feel free to drop by and ask away, although I might not respond for some time; I am usually on the English Wikipedia. Happy editing! Airplaneman 02:43, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure it was copied/imported from en, but there is no note on the talk page. Do you have any idea which version of the page from which it would have been copied? thanks, PrincessofLlyr talk 02:44, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if I can recall correctly from en (I assume it would be the same here), attribution is acceptable just by pointing it out in the edit summary, which was done. I did some searching here and stumbled upon Wikipedia:Transwiki Attribution. Now as for which version, I'll go ahead and compare timestamps… and http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Percy_Jackson_%26_the_Olympians:_The_Lightning_Thief&oldid=349738545 looks like the imported version. Airplaneman 02:54, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I just now realised, and this is really dumb, but I had been working on The Lightning Thief (novel, not film) and just got myself confused. Oh well. It's still nice to know. Also, talkbacks unnecessary here as at en! PrincessofLlyr talk 02:56, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, OK. Looks like some stuff was converted from en on September 21 2009, which would be http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=The_Lightning_Thief&oldid=314970281 I think. Since it was not copied, and only some stuff was ported over, I am not sure how to attribute, or if it is even needed. Hmm... Airplaneman 03:00, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, that one has already been noted, so I think it's fine. I'll probably try to add the note to the film's talk page too. Feel free to read over the novel page and improve anything you see. I want to post it at PGA this week. PrincessofLlyr talk 03:13, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK. Airplaneman 03:16, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi airplaneman! I've decided to start editing on the Simple English Wikipedia today. Can you give me some advice on editing here?I am a violinist (talk) 11:48, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I can help you. Simply come to my talk page if you have questions! Frozen Windwant to be chilly? 12:54, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Replied on my en wiki talk. Sorry for the delay, and thanks for stalking my talk, Frozen Wind! :) Airplaneman 21:55, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm indefinitely blocked on the en wikipedia because I was talking. See my en talkpage. Warrior (talk) 02:46, 25 November 2010 (UTC) (I'm Ian.bjorn)[reply]

You were doing more than that. Enjoy your time here, but don't do what got you in trouble over at en.wikipedia over here. Airplaneman 18:40, 25 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ok then. I've built up a Simple WikiProject Warriors. For now it's only a subpage of mine but I hope to get it out and onto the mainspace within 2 weeks. Loudclaw (talk) 02:03, 26 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
