Robert Bresson (French: [ʁɔbɛʁ bʁɛsɔ̃]; 25 September 1901 – 18 December 1999)[1] was a French movie director.

His works A Man Escaped (1956),[2] Pickpocket (1959)[3] and Au hasard Balthazar (1966)[4] were ranked among the 100 greatest movies ever made.[5]
