First inauguration of Thomas Jefferson

The first inauguration of Thomas Jefferson took place on March 4, 1801. Jefferson was sworn-in by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall. Jefferson became the third president of the United States.
It was the first presidential inauguration held in the United States's capitol, Washington, D.C.[1] It was the beginning of Jefferson's first term as president and Aaron Burr as Vice President.
