Personal License Information
Please review the Fee Schedule to ensure you submit the correct renewal fee to renew your license. Incorrect fees may impact the renewal of your license.
Approximately six weeks before the expiration date of your license, a renewal postcard will be mailed to your last known address of record. Licensees are responsible for renewing their licenses even if they do not receive a renewal postcard. The board does not send duplicate renewal postcards.
You may renew your license online no more than 60 days before the expiration date of the license.
It takes three to six weeks to receive the renewed license in the mail.
You may verify that your license has been renewed by clicking on the Verify a License. For purpose of license verification, California law allows the printout of a license record from the board's website.

The Board is unable to accept a foreign payment unless it meets the following specific criteria:
- The negotiable item must be drawn on a United States (US) Bank with a 9-digit routing number;
- Issued in US dollars; and
- The amount is over $200.00 US Dollars.

Name and Gender Change Notification and Request for Confidentiality (SB 372, 2023)
Effective January 1, 2024, under Business and Professions Code section 27.5, licensees may notify the licensing board or bureau within the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) of a name and/or gender change and request confidentiality of the previous name or gender information, when meeting certain specified requirements.
