Jennifer Lopez Hosts Bridgerton-Themed Party in the Hamptons Ahead of 55th Birthday — with Her Mom in Attendance

Jennifer Lopez is celebrating another year with family by her side!

On Saturday, July 20, the singer and actress threw a Bridgerton-themed party in the Hamptons ahead of her 55th birthday on July 24.

Workers were photographed setting up for the event, with a horse trailer, valet, security, waiters and more present outside of where the party was being held. Additionally, trucks carrying furniture and flowers could be seen being unloaded ahead of the party.

Numerous guests were later captured arriving in royal-esque attire, including Lopez's mother, Guadalupe Rodríguez, who was seen dressed in a blue gown with white lace detailing.

Lopez's celebration took place as she continues to spend her summer in the Hamptons — where she's been snapping selfies, spending time with husband Ben Affleck's daughter Violet, 18, and enjoying some shopping.

Ahead of her party, Lopez shared a cheery post with a positive message on Instagram. Alongside three selfies, the This Is Me ... Now musician wrote that it was "gonna be a great day," as she wished her followers a "happy Saturday."

For her birthday last year, Lopez gave fans a "lil peek" into a party that she and Affleck, 51, held at their home "with our closest family and friends." At the time, the singer wrote that she was "extremely grateful to be where I am today at this point in my life’s journey with so many beautiful, caring people to share it all with."

Lopez later shared a photo on Instagram of herself dancing on a table during the celebration, writing, "Birthday mood … all month."

Affleck did not attend his wife's party this year, a source confirms to PEOPLE. He and the "Jenny from the Block" singer have been spending time on opposite coasts.

Affleck was seen driving solo in Los Angeles on Friday, July 19, with his wedding band front and center. Before that, he and Lopez had recently spent the Fourth of July apart and weren't together for their second wedding anniversary on July 16.

They have, however, spent some milestones together in recent months, including Violet's high school graduation in May.

A source recently told PEOPLE that Lopez and Affleck's marriage is "not in the best place at the moment."

Another insider said that the pair's marital problems have had nothing to do with Lopez's status as a superstar. They said that there have been "deeper issues" between the pair.

"The idea that Ben thinks Jennifer is too famous and that he didn’t know what he was getting into with the attention on their marriage isn’t true," the source said.
