Description
本発明は、点光源から巾の広い照明に変換する照明装置の導光体に関する。 The present invention relates to a light guide for an illuminating device that converts a point light source into wide illumination.
従来、点光源(LED)から発する光を側面に受けて面状発光させ、この発光によって液晶パネルを照明する導光体(板)が知られている。これは、導光体を薄い可撓性部材で形成し、LEDに向き合う導光体の側面部分を漸次厚みを持たせて形成された受光部とし、導光体の表面にLEDから発せられる光の進行方向に沿って設けられた複数の光散乱部を備えたものである(特許文献1参照)。
従来の導光体では、LEDの光を入射する受光部から遠い部分は、受光部から近い部分よりも光の照射が弱くなる。したがって、導光体の面全体が均一に照射することは難しかった。 In the conventional light guide, the light irradiation is weaker in the portion far from the light receiving portion where the light from the LED is incident than in the portion near the light receiving portion. 図1に示す本発明の実施形態は、透明なシート状の樹脂素材10の一側面を巾広(この例では直線的な帯状)の発光部1とし、この発光部1から複数の分岐する導光路2〜5を形成してある。これらの導光路2〜5の形成は、1枚のシート状の樹脂素材10を切断加工して4つの導光路2〜5を形成し、これら導光路2〜5を同一方向へ折り曲げ、途中から折り返し、各導光路2〜5の端部を集束させ、この集束個所をLEDなどの点光源からの光の受光部6とした。前記各導光路2〜5の長さは均一とした。前記樹脂素材10としては、厚さ0.3mm〜1.0mm程度のアクリル樹脂が好適に用いられる。

図4に示す実施形態では、発光部1を直線的な帯状とせず、中央部分で折り曲げ、2方向の照射方向を得るようにしたものである。この発光部1を複数個所折り曲げてジグザグ状の照射とすることもでき、円弧状の折り曲げによりS字状の照明も可能となる。
