Abstract
A thermally stable and ductile titanium alloy consists of 10-50% in total of betapromoting elements including at least 8% of one or more of Mo, V, Nb, Zr and Ta and 0-15% in total of one or more of Cr, Mn, Fe, W, Co, Cu, Ni, Si and Be, with Cr and Mu not exceeding 15% in total, Fe not exceeding 10%, W, Ni, Co and Cu not exceeding 5% in total and Be and Si not exceeding 3% in total, 0-18% of the alpha-promoters Sn and/or Al with Al not exceeding 8%, the alloy containing at least 1% Al or 1% Sn or both when the total beta-promoter content is less than 20%, 0-0.3 C, 0-0.2 O, 0-0.1 N, and the balance Ti and impurities, the Ti constituting at least 50% of the alloy.
