Abstract

1347216 Chairs with knee supports J H VOWLES 28 Feb 1972 9150/72 Heading A4J A chair designed such that the weight of the user may be at least partly borne by a knee support 20 comprises a seat 18 inclined downwardly from the horizontal towards the knee support. Arcuate foot rests 22 in which the centre of the arcs are on the knee support may be provided. In a second embodiment, Figs. 2 and 3(not shown), two individual knee supports are provided and adjustment of the seat attitude and the distance from the lower front edge of the seat to the knee supports with a simultaneous change in the attitude of the knee supports may be carried out. The foot supports may be adjustable in height and curvature. In a third embodiment Figs.4 and 5 (not shown) the seat is mounted on a collapsible 'A' frame, the knee support being pivotally mounted on a rod rigidly secured to the seat.
