Abstract

The insert (I) fits into the upper section of the medullary canal of the humerus and act as a base, either for a prosthesis or for an osteosynthesis element for the upper end of the humerus. The insert is basically trapezoidal in shape and has a rectangular cross-section with sharp edges (1) and vertical ribs (2,3) to give improved anchoring against inner walls of humeral canal.
