Abstract

The metallic contact conducts a high intensity current and produces a high temp. The contact comprises a moving contact element (2) mounted to slide in axial supports (1a, 1b) and sealed by sealing rings (3). The element contains a conical opening (4) which retains a contact element (5) with a rounded lead. This facilities its insertion and extraction and a channel (6) in the contact allows a pressure to be applied to drive it out. A cavity (13) between the supports has an inlet (14) and outlet (15) for a liquid which circulates around blades (16) on the contact element. The heat produced by a product (17) propagates along the contact to be dissipated in the cooling liquid.
