Abstract
A process for preparing a dry, free-flowing, non-hydroscopic composition containing choline-chloride comprises preparing, in an aqueous choline-chloride solution, a finely-divided alkali metal salt of a fatty acid and subsequently drying the resultant mixture. Preferably the composition contains 0À25 kg. of fatty acid alkali metal salt per kg. of choline-chloride, and may be prepared by adding the desired fatty acid to a vigorously stirred aqueous choline-chloride solution and subsequently adding sodium or potassium hydroxide such that the pH is adjusted to about 8. The fatty acids desirably contain 14-20 carbon atoms.
