Abstract
The application discloses an electric connector, which comprises a substrate, a plurality of terminals and a cable. The substrate is provided with a first surface, a second surface and a plurality of insertion holes, wherein the first surface is opposite to the second surface, and the plurality of insertion holes penetrate through the first surface and the second surface. A plurality of terminals are respectively disposed in the corresponding receptacles, each terminal having a first end and a second end, the first end protruding from the first surface. The cable is arranged on the second surface of the substrate and is electrically connected with the second end of the corresponding terminal. The electric connector of the application inserts a plurality of terminals in the base plate and replaces the terminal belt used in the current electric connector, reduces the structural complexity of the electric connector of the application, reduces the whole processing difficulty, can reduce the processing cost, and is easy to assemble so as to improve the assembly efficiency.
Description
Technical Field
The present application relates to the field of connector technology, and more particularly, to an electrical connector.
Background
Current electrical connectors include a plurality of terminal strips having a plurality of terminals and a cable. The cable of the electrical connector is electrically connected to the terminals and is plugged to the host circuit board through the plurality of terminals of each terminal strip. The terminal belt is characterized in that a plurality of terminals are integrally connected with the plate body, so that the terminal belt is complex in structure and complex in processing mode, the processing difficulty is greatly improved, and the overall processing cost of the electric connector is greatly improved.
SUMMERY OF THE UTILITY MODEL
The embodiment of the application provides an electric connector, solves the problem that the terminal belt with a plurality of terminals is used in the existing electric connector, and the structure of the terminal belt is complex, so that the processing difficulty is improved.
In order to solve the technical problem, the present application is implemented as follows:
an electrical connector is provided, which includes a substrate, a plurality of terminals and a cable. The substrate is provided with a first surface, a second surface and a plurality of insertion holes, wherein the first surface is opposite to the second surface, and the plurality of insertion holes penetrate through the first surface and the second surface. A plurality of terminals are respectively disposed in the corresponding receptacles, each terminal having a first end and a second end, the first end protruding from the first surface. The cable is arranged on the second surface of the substrate and is electrically connected with the second end of the corresponding terminal.
In the embodiment of the application, a plurality of terminals are inserted on the substrate to replace a plurality of terminal belts of the current electric connector, so that the structural complexity of the electric connector is reduced, the overall processing difficulty is reduced, the processing cost can be reduced, and the assembly efficiency is improved by easy assembly.

Detailed Description
Embodiments of the present application are illustrated in the drawings and, for purposes of clarity, numerous implementation details are set forth in the following description. It should be understood, however, that these implementation details should not be used to limit the application. That is, in some embodiments of the present application, details of these implementations are not necessary. In addition, some conventional structures and components are shown in simplified schematic form in the drawings. In the following embodiments, the same or similar components will be denoted by the same reference numerals.
Referring to fig. 1, 2, 3 and 4, there are shown a perspective view of a first embodiment of the electrical connector of the present application, a cross-sectional view along line AA' of fig. 1, an exploded view and another exploded view. As shown in the drawing, the electrical connector 1 of the present embodiment includes a substrate 11, a plurality of terminals 13, and a cable 15. The plurality of terminals 13 are disposed on the substrate 11, and the plurality of terminals 13 are electrically connected to each other through a circuit on the substrate 11, the plurality of terminals 13 are simultaneously electrically connected to one end of the cable 15, and the other end of the cable 15 is electrically connected to an external device.
The substrate 11 has a first surface 111, a second surface 112, and a plurality of insertion holes 113, the first surface 111 being opposite to the second surface 112, the plurality of insertion holes 113 penetrating the first surface 111 and the second surface 112. A plurality of terminals 13 are respectively disposed in the corresponding insertion holes 113, each terminal 13 having a first end 131 and a second end 132, the first end 131 protruding from the first surface 111. The cable 15 is disposed on the second surface 112 of the substrate 11 and electrically connected to the second end 132 of the corresponding terminal 13. In the present embodiment, the substrate 11 has a first side 1101 and a second side 1102, the first side 1101 is opposite to the second side 1102, when the cable 15 is disposed on the substrate 11, one end of the cable 15 is electrically connected to the corresponding terminal 13, and the other end of the cable 15 is connected to an external device across the first side 1101. In the present embodiment, the substrate 11 is a circuit board. The plurality of terminals 13 include signal terminals, ground terminals and/or plug terminals.
As can be seen from the above, the terminals 13 of the electrical connector 1 of the present embodiment are disposed on the substrate 11 in an inserting manner, and the terminals 13 can be electrically connected through the circuit traces of the substrate 11, so that the terminal strips used in the electrical connector can be replaced, the structural complexity of the electrical connector is reduced, and the processing difficulty is reduced. The electric connector 1 is simple to manufacture, can reduce processing cost, and is easy to assemble so as to improve assembling efficiency.
In the present embodiment, the plurality of terminals 13 are divided into a first terminal group 1301, a second terminal group 1302, and a third terminal group 1303, the plurality of terminals 13 of the first terminal group 1301, the plurality of terminals 13 of the second terminal group 1302, and the plurality of terminals 13 of the third terminal group 1303 are respectively arranged in a row on the substrate 11, the arrangement directions of the plurality of terminals 13 of the first terminal group 1301, the plurality of terminals 13 of the second terminal group 1302, and the plurality of terminals 13 of the third terminal group 1303 are parallel to each other, the second terminal group 1302 is located between the first terminal group 1301 and the third terminal group 1303, each terminal 13 of the first terminal group 1301 is a signal terminal, each terminal 13 of the second terminal group 1302 is a ground terminal, each terminal 13 of the third terminal group 1303 is a ground terminal, and the plurality of terminals 13 of the second terminal group 1302 are electrically connected to the plurality of terminals 13 of the third terminal group 1303 through the wiring of the substrate 11. In this embodiment, the first terminal set 1301 is close to the second side edge 1102, and the third terminal set 1303 is close to the first side edge 1101.
In addition, each cable 15 of the present embodiment includes at least one first conductor 151 and at least one second conductor 153, the first conductor 151 is surrounded by a cable insulator, the first conductor 151 and the second conductor 153 are separated by the cable insulator, the first conductor 151 is electrically connected to the first terminal set 1301, and the second conductor 153 is electrically connected to the second terminal set 1302. In the present embodiment, the cable insulator surrounds the pair of first conductors 151, and the second conductors 153 are respectively disposed on both sides of the cable insulator, and the second conductors 153 contact the shielding layer in the cable 15.
Preferably, the electrical connector 1 of the present embodiment further includes a protective layer 17, the protective layer 17 being disposed on the second surface 112 of the substrate 11 and covering the second end 132 of each terminal 13 and the end portions of the plurality of wires 15, the plurality of terminals 13 and the conductors of the wires 15 connected to the terminals 13 being protected by the protective layer 17.
Fig. 5 to 7 are a use state diagram, a use state sectional view and a sectional view of the first embodiment of the electrical connector of the present application. As shown, the connector 1 is assembled on the host circuit board 2, and in the present embodiment, the first end 131 of each terminal 13 of the connector 1 is inserted into the through hole 21 of the corresponding host circuit board 2. The first surface 111 of the electrical connector 1 faces the host circuit board 2. The external device is electrically connected with the host circuit board 2 through the electric connector 1.
Preferably, the length of the first end 131 of each terminal 13 of the third terminal group 1303 of the present embodiment protruding from the first surface 111 is longer than the length of the first end 131 of each terminal 13 of the first terminal group 1301 and the second terminal group 1302 protruding from the first surface 111. When the electrical connector 1 is disposed on the host circuit board 2, the first end 131 of each terminal 13 in the third terminal group 1303 protrudes from the first surface 111 by a length greater than the thickness of the host circuit board 2, and the first end 131 of each terminal 13 in the third terminal group 1303 protrudes from the surface of the host circuit board 2 away from the first surface 111.
The third terminal set 1303 of the present embodiment is closest to the first side 1101, and the other end of the cable 15 is connected to the external device across the first side 1101, the third terminal set 1303 close to the first side 1101 is easily affected by the external device pulling the cable 15, and the length of the terminal 13 of the third terminal set 1303 of the present embodiment is the longest, so the terminal 13 of the third terminal set 1303 can pass through the host circuit board 2, and is not easily affected by the external device pulling the cable 15, and the terminal 13 of the third terminal set 1303 can be stably located on the host circuit board 2.
Preferably, a plurality of terminals 13 are provided on the substrate 11, and each terminal 13 protruding from the first surface 111 has a fisheye structure having a width larger than the first end 131 of each terminal 13. After the first end 131 of each terminal 13 of the electrical connector 1 is inserted into the through hole 21 of the host circuit board 2, the electrical connector 1 is fixed to the host circuit board 2 by being fastened in the through hole 21 of the host circuit board 2 through the fish-eye structure of each terminal 13.
In another embodiment, the third terminal group 1303 may include a plurality of plug terminals each having a first end 131 and a second end 133, the first ends 131 of the plug terminals protruding from the first surface 111. The plug-in terminals are not electrically connected but are used as a fixing structure between the electrical connector 1 and the host circuit board 2.
Please refer to fig. 8, which is a cross-sectional view of a second embodiment of the electrical connector of the present application, as shown in the figure, in the present embodiment, the electrical connector 1 is attached to the host circuit board 2, and the adhesive member 3 fixes the first end 131 of each terminal 13 of the third terminal set 1303 on the surface of the host circuit board 2 away from the first surface 111, so as to prevent the plurality of terminals 13 of the third terminal set 1303 from being easily separated from the host circuit board 2 due to the cable 15 being pulled by an external device, thereby further enhancing the bonding strength between the electrical connector 1 and the host circuit board 2.
Fig. 9 is a sectional view of a third embodiment of the electrical connector according to the present application in a use state. As shown in the drawing, the present embodiment differs from the first embodiment in that the plurality of terminals 13 are divided into a first terminal group 1301 and a second terminal group 1302. The plurality of terminals 13 of the first terminal group 1301 and the plurality of terminals 13 of the second terminal group 1302 are aligned in a row, and the arrangement directions of the plurality of terminals 13 of the first terminal group 1301 and the plurality of terminals 13 of the second terminal group 1302 are parallel to each other. In this embodiment, each of the plurality of terminals 13 of the first terminal group 1301 is a signal terminal, and each of the plurality of terminals 13 of the second terminal group 1302 is a ground terminal. In another embodiment, the first terminal set 1301 includes at least one signal terminal and at least two ground terminals, and the signal terminal pair is located between two adjacent ground terminals viewed from the first side 1101 toward the second side 1102.
Preferably, the length of the first end 131 of each terminal 13 of the second terminal set 1302 of the present embodiment protruding from the first surface 111 is greater than the length of the first end 131 of each terminal 13 of the first terminal set 1301 protruding from the first surface 111. When the electrical connector 1 is attached to the host circuit board 2, the first end 131 of each terminal 13 of the second terminal set 1302 protrudes from the first surface 111 by a length greater than the thickness of the host circuit board 2, and the first end 131 of each terminal 13 of the second terminal set 1302 protrudes from the surface of the host circuit board 2 away from the first surface 111, so that the connection strength of the second terminal set 1302 plugged to the host circuit board 2 is improved.
The electronic device further includes a bonding element 3, wherein the bonding element 3 fixes the first end 131 of each terminal 13 of the second terminal set 1302 on the surface of the host circuit board 2 away from the first surface 111. The terminals 13 of the second terminal set 1302 are fixed to the host circuit board 2 by the adhesive 3, so that the terminals 3 are not easily separated from the host circuit board 2.
Fig. 10 is a sectional view of a fourth embodiment of the electrical connector according to the present application in a use state. As shown in the drawing, the present embodiment is different from the third embodiment in that a plurality of terminals 13 are arranged in a row. In this embodiment, the arrangement direction of the plurality of terminals 13 is parallel to the first side 1101, the plurality of terminals 13 includes at least one signal terminal and at least two ground terminals, and the signal terminal pair is located between two adjacent ground terminals when viewed from the first side 1101 toward the second side 1102. In the present embodiment, two signal terminals are paired between two ground terminals.
To sum up, this application provides an electric connector walks the line through the circuit that the base plate regarded as electric connection between a plurality of terminals, and replaces the terminal area that uses among the electric connector at present, reduces the structure complexity of the electric connector of this application, reduces holistic processing degree of difficulty, reducible processing cost, and easy equipment is in order to improve packaging efficiency moreover.

Claims (21)
1. An electrical connector, comprising:
a substrate having a first surface, a second surface, and a plurality of receptacles, the first surface being opposite the second surface, the plurality of receptacles extending through the first surface and the second surface; a plurality of terminals respectively disposed in the corresponding receptacles, each of the terminals having a first end and a second end, the first ends protruding from the first surface;
a cable disposed on the second surface of the substrate and electrically connected to the second end of the corresponding terminal.
2. The electrical connector of claim 1, wherein the first end of each of the terminals is inserted into a through hole of a corresponding host circuit board.
3. The electrical connector of claim 1, wherein the substrate has a first side and a second side, the first side being opposite the second side, the cable crossing the first side.
4. The electrical connector of claim 3, wherein said plurality of terminals are arranged in a row, said plurality of terminals being arranged in a direction parallel to said first side, said plurality of terminals including a plurality of signal terminals and a plurality of ground terminals.
5. The electrical connector of claim 4, wherein said plurality of terminals includes at least one signal terminal and at least two ground terminals, said signal terminals being aligned between two adjacent ground terminals when viewed from said first side toward said second side.
6. The electrical connector of claim 3, wherein the plurality of terminals are divided into a first terminal group and a second terminal group, the plurality of terminals of the first terminal group and the plurality of terminals of the second terminal group are arranged in a row, respectively, and the arrangement directions of the plurality of terminals of the first terminal group and the plurality of terminals of the second terminal group are parallel to each other.
7. The electrical connector of claim 6, wherein each of said cables includes at least one first conductor and at least one second conductor, said first conductor surrounded by a cable insulator, said first conductor separated from said second conductor by said cable insulator, said first conductor electrically connecting said first terminal set, said second conductor electrically connecting said second terminal set.
8. The electrical connector of claim 6, wherein said first terminal set includes at least one signal terminal and at least two ground terminals, said signal terminal pair being located between two adjacent ground terminals when viewed from said first side toward said second side.
9. The electrical connector of claim 6, wherein the first end of each of the terminals of the second terminal set projects from the first surface by a length greater than a length of the first end of each of the terminals of the first terminal set projecting from the first surface.
10. The electrical connector of claim 9, wherein said electrical connector is attached to a host circuit board, said first end of each of said terminals of said second terminal set projecting from said first surface a length greater than a thickness of said host circuit board, said first end of each of said terminals of said second terminal set projecting from a surface of said host circuit board remote from said first surface.
11. The electrical connector of claim 10, further comprising an adhesive that secures the first end of each of the terminals to a surface of the host circuit board remote from the first surface.
12. The electrical connector of claim 6, further comprising a third terminal set including a plurality of card terminals, each of the card terminals having a first end and a second end, the first ends of the card terminals projecting from the first surface.
13. The electrical connector of claim 12, wherein said first end of each said insert terminal projects from said first surface a greater length than said first end of each said terminal projects from said first surface.
14. The electrical connector of claim 12, wherein said electrical connector is attached to a host circuit board, said first end of each said card terminal projecting from said first surface a length greater than a thickness of said host circuit board, said first end of each said card terminal projecting from a surface of said host circuit board remote from said first surface.
15. The electrical connector of claim 14, further comprising an adhesive member securing said first end of each said card terminal to a surface of said host circuit board remote from said first surface.
16. The electrical connector of claim 1, wherein said plurality of terminals are divided into a first terminal group, a second terminal group and a third terminal group, said plurality of terminals of said first terminal group, said plurality of terminals of said second terminal group and said plurality of terminals of said third terminal group are arranged in a row, respectively, the arrangement directions of said plurality of terminals of said first terminal group, said plurality of terminals of said second terminal group and said plurality of terminals of said third terminal group are parallel to each other, said second terminal group is located between said first terminal group and said third terminal group, each of said terminals of said first terminal group is a signal terminal, each of said terminals of said second terminal group is a ground terminal, and each of said terminals of said third terminal group is a ground terminal.
17. The electrical connector of claim 16, wherein the substrate is a circuit board, and the plurality of terminals of the second terminal set are electrically connected to the plurality of terminals of the third terminal set through the traces of the substrate.
18. The electrical connector of claim 17, wherein the first end of each of the terminals of the third terminal set projects from the first surface a length greater than the length of the first end of each of the terminals of the first terminal set and the second terminal set projecting from the first surface.
19. The electrical connector of claim 18, further comprising an adhesive attached to a host circuit board, the adhesive securing the first end of at least one of the terminals of the third terminal set on a surface of the host circuit board remote from the first surface.
20. The electrical connector of claim 1, wherein each of said terminals projecting from said first surface has a fisheye configuration.
21. The electrical connector of claim 1, further comprising a protective layer disposed on the second surface of the substrate and covering the second end of each of the terminals and the plurality of wires.
