PASADENA ISD Board Meeting Agendas and Minutes are posted online with BoardBook. BoardBook is a Web-based software application that electronically streamlines the preparation of board agenda packets and builds a searchable archive of meeting agenda packets and approved minutes. It opens the door to electronic distribution of meeting materials, to Web posting of finished documents and, ultimately, to paperless meetings.

  • ADDRESSING THE BOARD - Public Comments

    The board has allotted 30 minutes at the beginning of each regular meeting for public comments addressing items listed on the open session portion of the agenda. Each person is limited to a maximum of three minutes and may not pass his or her time to another. The board president may reduce the amount of time allotted to each speaker to no less than one minute as appropriate. If public comments will address topics not considered for action on the agenda, the board has allotted 30 minutes at the end of each regular board meeting. The same time limits for speakers will apply. The following sign-up procedures apply to individuals who wish to sign up to speak during the public comment participation at any board meetings:

    • Sign up will open at 8:00 a.m. on the first business day following the posting of notice of the meeting and agenda and will close three (3) hours before the meeting is noticed to begin.
      For example, if a regular meeting is posted to begin at 5:30 p.m., the speaker sign-up deadline will be 2:30 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Because meeting start times may fluctuate, please make sure you check the public notice for the meeting to determine the speaker sign up deadline.
    • During the designated sign up period, speakers may sign up to speak during the public comment portion of a board meeting either: (1) in-person with the board secretary, Joan Jordan, at the district’s administration building, 3920 Mickey Gilley Boulevard, Pasadena, Texas, 77505; or (2) via email sent to [email protected].
    • At the time of sign up, speakers must: (1) identify the topic on which they wish to address the board; (2) indicate whether the comment pertains to an item on the board agenda and, if so, which item or items; and (3) identify whether or not they will be accompanied by a translator.
    • If an agenda item is continued or posted again for a meeting on a later date, individuals who wish to address the board on the item must sign up separately for that later date.  In lieu of, or in addition to, speaking at an open meeting, a member of the public may also submit written comments regarding district business to the board by:
    • delivering a copy of the written comments in person to the board secretary, Joan Jordan, at the Pasadena ISD Administration Building, 3920 Mickey Gilley Boulevard, Pasadena, Texas, 77505;
    • mailing a copy of the written comments to Board of Trustees, Pasadena Independent School District, 3920 Mickey Gilley Boulevard, Pasadena, Texas, 77505; or
    • emailing a copy of the written comments to [email protected].
