We're letting you know about a permanent and temporary change to the Mushroom FM schedule.
First the permanent one. Gordon Luke, one of our longest-serving fun guys, is hanging up the headphones due to extensive work commitments. We are profoundly grateful for the years of great entertainment Gordon has provided, and we have fingers crossed that he'll be back on the air when his schedule permits. Gordon's not leaving us completely. He will continue to be doing valuable work in the engine room at Mushroom FM, keeping our website shiny and functional.
This week on Deep Dive we enjoy the powerful talents and sound of Linda Ronstadt. We meet Carmelita, move to the sound of a different drum, and discover that you're no good.
Tune in at 4 PM Eastern Monday, 6 AM Tuesday in Eastern Australia. Or at 6 AM Eastern Wednesday, 8 PM in Eastern Australia. Just holler out to that SmartSpeaker of yours to play Mushroom FM and you will be there quicker than an Olympic 100 meter sprinter.
It's almost time for another three-hour Folkish feast on Come by the Hills! I've got songs about foxes and a tyger (yes it's spelled correctly,) a salute to John Barleycorn and other barley-related matters, and even some songs about love, including one of my absolute favourites by Nanci Griffith. Come along and hang out if you're of a mind!
Catch Come by the Hills live from the 7th floor on Sunday at 8:00 PM Eastern, or check out the replay on Tuesday at 5:00 AM Eastern. However and whenever you listen, I hope you'll enjoy it!

After you've enjoyed Decades in HD with PJ Noce tomorrow afternoon from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM, don't touch that dial, device, PC, Mac, smart speaker or tablet and join me for The Early Years, where and when you'll hear the best music from the first quarter century of Rock with occasional nods to other decades and genres.
Last week, I played songs about Summer with a twist. Instead of songs that mention Summer in their titles and/or lyrics, I played songs that charted in July from 1974 going back to 1961, one song from each year.

The "Juke In The Back" focuses on the " soul that came before rock n' roll," the records that inspired Elvis, Buddy Holly, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and countless others.
Billy Ward and his business partner Rose Ann Marks put together The Dominoes in mid-1950 and helped fuel the R&B vocal group scene that would eventually become one of the major building blocks for Rock n' Roll.
This week on Deep Dive we enjoy the talents of Australian band Mental as anything. We meet Mr Natural, ask if you leave me can I come too, and recognise too many times.
Tune in at 4 PM Eastern Monday, which happens to be 6 AM Tuesday in Eastern Australia. Or at 6 AM Eastern Wednesday, which turns out to be 8 PM in Eastern Australia. Getting there is simple. Just ask that SmartSpeaker of yours to play Mushroom FM and you will be there quicker than a change of candidate in a Us election.
It will soon be time for another fun and Folky episode of Come by the Hills, once again brought to you live from the 7th floor! This week, I've got some waltzes, including one about toilets, (yes, toilets!), some songs about willows, a song featureing a girl with April in her eyes, a sunset hymn and much much more! The best part is that it's live, which means that, depending on my whimsical whims or the whims of you, the listener, things could change at a moment's notice! So, sit back and enjoy the ride!
