വംശനാശഭീഷണി നേരിടുന്ന ജീവികളിൽ ഒന്നാണ് ബാക്ട്രീയൻ ഒട്ടകം. നാടൻ ഒട്ടകത്തിന്റെ പൂർവികരായ ഇവയെ ഗോബി മരുഭൂമി പ്രദേശത്ത് കാണാം. ചൈനയിലും മംഗോളിയയിലുമായ് ഏകദേശം 1000 എണ്ണമേ ബാക്കിയുള്ളു. കമീലസ് ബാക്ട്രിയാനസ് എന്നാണ് ശാസ്ത്രനാമം.
