Admin?
editHave you considered applying for adminship? Seems like it'd be useful if you could block/protect items. BrokenSegue (talk) 18:24, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @BrokenSegue! Well, I hadn't really considered it, but I guess the extra tools would be helpful to keep fighting vandalism. I don't have that much experience in other areas of the project, though; do you think that would be viewed negatively by the community? RFAs here seem to be much less drama-filled than RFAs in the English Wikipedia, but I still wonder –FlyingAce✈hello 19:49, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
- It's true you lack some experience but you do a lot on vandal hunting. Yeah, RfAs here are pretty chill (there's no way I would try to become an enwiki admin today, it was so much easier when I was op'd) and I would be willing to nominate you if you wanted. I can't be sure it would go through (likely someone will bring up lack of experience) but personally I think we could use more people monitoring the admin noticeboard and you seem like a good candidate for that. BrokenSegue (talk) 21:44, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
- @BrokenSegue: Thanks for the offer, I guess we lose nothing by trying! If it doesn't succeed I can keep reverting vandals and reporting issues to AN as usual. Let me know what would be needed on my side. :) –FlyingAce✈hello 20:25, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- Cool. For what it's worth I've suggested 3 people apply so far and all three have made it. But no promises. I'll nominate you later today. Good luck. BrokenSegue (talk) 20:49, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- Ok I nominated you at Wikidata:Requests for permissions/Administrator/FlyingAce. BrokenSegue (talk) 23:34, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you! I just added some more information about myself. –FlyingAce✈hello 02:52, 2 September 2023 (UTC)

Congratulations, Dear Administrator!
editEnglish | español | français | العربية | Nederlands | русский | +/−
Congratulations! You now have the rights of administrator on Wikidata. Please take a moment to read the Wikidata:Administrators page and watchlist related pages (in particular Wikidata:Project chat, Wikidata:Requests for comment, and Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard), before launching yourself into page deletions, page protections, account blockings, or modifications of protected pages.
Please feel free to join us on IRC: #wikidata-adminconnect. If you need access, you can flag someone down at #wikidataconnect. You may find Wikidata:Guide to Adminship to be useful reading. You may also want to consider adding yourself to meta:Template:Wikidata/Ambassadors, and to any similar page on your home wiki if one exists. (Check Wikipedia:Wikidata/Wikidatans (Q14964498).)
Please also add/update the languages you speak to your listing at Wikidata:List of administrators and Wikidata:Administrators/Timeline. You may also like to add your username to this list if you would not like that items you delete at RfD get marked as deleted automatically. Again, welcome to the admin corps!

- @Lymantria: Thank you! That cake looks yummy :D I'll be sure to read everything before putting the mop to good use. –FlyingAce✈hello 18:07, 9 September 2023 (UTC)

edittxs for this Cordially. Eihel (talk) 14:53, 14 September 2023 (UTC)
- @Eihel: you're welcome! I guess the template should be redesigned to allow reporting more than one user at once :) –FlyingAce✈hello 15:26, 16 September 2023 (UTC)
Help needed
editHello @FlyingAce. I made a report concerning user Flandria12 at the Wikidata:Administrators' noticeboard but a bot archived it. Can I restore the discussion so that you could take a look at it? The above mentioned user has been engaging in disruptive editing and I provided a number of diffs (also continuing doing the same disruptive editing despite being warned by two users) of such behavior but unfortunately no adminstrator had taken a look, so I hope that you would. Best regards, WikiEditor1234567123 (talk) 20:22, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @FlyingAce. Could you give an answer to this question, please? Best regards, WikiEditor1234567123 (talk) 10:32, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- @WikiEditor1234567123: sorry, I missed your first message. I don't feel comfortable taking administrative action over a topic I know absolutely nothing about; I can try finding someone who can, though. Feel free to make a new report linking to the archived one. Regards, –FlyingAce✈hello 13:15, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- I made a new report (basically the same), could you check the report and see if I made any mistakes? Best regards, WikiEditor1234567123 (talk) 15:02, 27 September 2023 (UTC)
- @WikiEditor1234567123: I think you've included all the information that is needed. I've asked a Russian-speaking admin to take a look. –FlyingAce✈hello 06:09, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

Question
editHello @FlyingAce. Could you delete this page as we already have page for Falkhan? Same thing for [1] (we already have page for Meredzhi; [2] (we already have page for Battle of Galashki (2002); [3] (we already have page for Tsorins); [4] (we already have page for Dattykh); [5] (we already have page for Khay (village)). Thanks! Best regards, WikiEditor1234567123 (talk) 19:56, 11 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @WikiEditor1234567123! The correct process for duplicate items is to merge them rather than delete them. I'm a bit pressed for time right now but will take a look at these cases later. –FlyingAce✈hello 16:42, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hello @FlyingAce! Do you have time right now to merge them? Best regards, WikiEditor1234567123 (talk) 20:51, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
- Also this Q111938095 should be merged with Q30889647 because they're too about the same topic. Best regards, WikiEditor1234567123 (talk) 20:52, 27 October 2023 (UTC)
- @WikiEditor1234567123: All Done. You may want to look into installing the merge gadget (see Help:Merge#Gadget) so you can give it a try, since merges do not require admin access. :) Kind regards, –FlyingAce✈hello 04:01, 28 October 2023 (UTC)

References vandal
editHi! I saw that you blocked 190.204.196.231 and many other IPs related to the same vandal. There are a lot (and quite wide) IP ranges that (s)he contributes with, like 190.37.0.0/18, 190.36.64.0/18, 190.204.192.0/18 and 190.205.64.0/18. I don't think blocking the single IPs will be a successful strategy, but range blocks would be needed. We would also need a way of identifying all such ranges. May you take care of this or should I ask to WD:AN? Horcrux (talk) 10:40, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Horcrux: Thank you! I have been compiling a few of the IPs as I come across them, but hadn't been able to figure out a blockable range (other than a couple /24s). I'll block these ranges, and will take a look at the edits as time allows. –FlyingAce✈hello 00:26, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

editPescate

- @Tres Libras: ¡Con gusto!
Saludos, –FlyingAce✈hello 00:01, 5 December 2024 (UTC)
