I. M. Pei, nomine pleno Sinico 貝聿銘 Bèi Yùmíng (Quanchei in Sinis natus die 26 Aprilis 1917; Manhatae die 16 Maii 2019 mortuus), fuit architectus Sinicus et Americanus, architecturae modernae peritus.[1]
De vita
[recensere | fontem recensere]Pei puero Hongcongi et Sciamhaevi primum educato, pelliculae Americanae a Buster Keaton et Bing Crosby actae placebant, sed inspectio hortorum urbis Suchei ad architectonicum munus incitabat. Linguam Anglicam Bibliis Sacris et mythistoriis Dickensianis legendis didicit.
Ad Civitates Foederatas anno 1935 migravit, ubi in schola architecturae Universitatis Pennsylvaniensis matriculavit, sed mox in Massachusettense Institutum Technologiae transcendit. Aversabatur autem amorem architecturae bellarum artium in ambobus institutis doctum, et per se solus architectos emergentes libere investigabat, praecipue Le Corbusier. Gradu A.B. accepto, se in Graduatam Designationis Scholam Harvardianam? ascripsit, ubi amicus Gualterii Gropii et Marcelli Breuer, architectorum modi Bauhaus, factus est.
Annum agens centesimum tertium, Manhatae in urbe Novo Eboraco die 16 Maii 2019 mortem obiit.[5]
