Kereta api Kertanegara merupakan layanan kereta api penumpang kelas eksekutif dan ekonomi yang dioperasikan PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) dengan relasi Malang–Purwokerto pp melalui lintas selatan Jawa.^[2]

Asal-usul penamaan

Nama Kertanegara berasal dari nama raja terakhir Kerajaan Singasari bernama, Kertanagara yang memerintah sekitar tahun 1268–1292. Menurut silsilah wangsa Rajasa, Kertanagara merupakan anak dari Wisnuwardhana yang ditunjuk menjadi yuwaraja (putra mahkota) pada masa pemerintahannya.

Sejarah dan pengoperasian

Kereta api ini pertama kali dioperasikan pada 10 Maret 2021, satu bulan setelah peluncuran grafik perjalanan kereta api tahun 2021 dengan memperpanjang salah satu rute perjalanan kereta api Malioboro Ekspres yang sebelumnya hanya sampai Yogyakarta. Kereta api Kertanegara perdana beroperasi menggunakan rangkaian berbahan baja nirkarat (stainless steel).^[3]

Per 26 Januari 2022, rangkaian kereta api ini diganti dari rangkaian berbahan baja nirkarat menjadi baja ringan (mild steel). Layanan kelas eksekutif yang digunakan adalah sarana kereta eksekutif keluaran sebelum tahun 2009, sedangkan layanan kelas ekonomi menggunakan sarana kereta ekonomi new image keluaran PT INKA tahun 2016.^[4] Kemudian per 20 Mei 2022, sarana kereta eksekutifnya diubah menjadi kereta eksekutif new image buatan PT INKA tahun 2016-2017.

Rangkaian kereta api ini terdiri dari empat kereta kelas eksekutif, empat kereta kelas ekonomi, satu kereta makan, dan satu kereta pembangkit.

Stasiun pemberhentian

Kereta api Kertanegara melayani pemberhentian penumpang di stasiun-stasiun berikut.^[5]

Mulai 28 November 2024, kereta api ini juga melayani pemberhentian penumpang di Stasiun Kesamben hanya untuk perjalanan ke arah Purwokerto.

Insiden

Kereta api Kertanegara menabrak truk gandeng dengan nomor polisi AG 8596 UL di perlintasan sebidang, Jalan Tanjung, Kota Blitar, Selasa (24/12/2024). Kecelakaan itu terjadi sekitar pukul 02.00 WIB.

Kasatlantas Polres Blitar Kota AKP Andang Wastiyono mengatakan, semula kendaraan truk gandeng yang dikemudikan AC (34) warga Kelurahan Turi, Kecamanan Sukorejo, Kota Blitar melaju dari arah timur ke barat.

Saat melintas di perlintasan sebidang Jalan Tanjung, Kota Blitar, terjadi benturan dengan kereta api Kertanegara jurusan Purwokerto-Malang dengan nomor KA 134 yang melaju dari arah barat ke timur.
