If anyone wants to go to the NHL game at Fiserv on October 5th you can use the presale code ASKAROV to get tickets before the general public. Probably only around 5,000 left right now. You're welcome.

As a bit of an Italophile, I find it hard to not root for Paolini. I think she's also hard not to root for just generally. But I'm happy for Krejikova that she won today. One, she's wonderful, very nice and respected, and has actually several great stories. Two, Paolini shouldn't be here. Not her fault of course, but Madison Keys had her dead to rights until she busted her leg, lost three straight games, and ultimately retired. It would feel weird if Paolini had gone on to win it all.

Alcaraz completely in Djokovic's head now with how well he's playing. This could be a rout.

Bold strategy for Novak to wait until he's down 2 sets before showing any signs of fight in a grand slam final.

Yes, but I also don't think there's anything he can really do. What Djokovic (and Nadal and Federer) were able to do late into their careers was unprecedented, but when you see him go up against an elite young talent he looks really old now.
Father time remains undefeated.

For the greatest baseline grinder in the history of the sport I thought there was a shocking lack of willingness to engage in any sort of that from Djokovic against Alcaraz today.

Partially disagree. He's not going to win now but it's plain to see from this 3rd set if Djokovic brought any level of play befitting the occasion it could've been a much different match.

Carlito's trying way too hard here. Put the ball in play and put it away.

Djokovic emptied his bag of tricks on the court a few times this set and Alcaraz countered at every play. Should he keep trying? Yes, but I think he's running into a brick wall and feels like he has no answer.

Agreed but his idea was just to start serve volleying or attacking the net at every chance which to me goes counter to the reason he's been so great in his career. I was just questioning that approach but he must feel like he has zero chance in the extended baseline rallies.

I've truly never seen shot making like this for 3+ hours maybe since prime Federer. Alcaraz is a complete mutant. He also looks like he just stepped on court, zero signs he's at all fatigued or that he's even been doing any physical activity.

4 majors in the bag at 21 years old. French and Wimbledon back to back, backed up his Wimbledon title from last year beating Djokovic both times. Doesn't even turn 22 until next May. There is no more debate, he's firmly at the top of the sport by himself with everyone else looking up at him now.
