[edit]Borrowed from a South Slavic language, compare Old Church Slavonic грабити (grabiti), Serbo-Croatian grabiti (“to grab, to sieze”) and Bulgarian грабя (grabja, “to rob, to plunder”). Ultimately from Proto-Slavic *grabiti (“to grab, to sieze”).[1][2][3]
