fuck buddy (plural fuck buddies)

1. (vulgar, slang) A sex partner with whom one has sex, usually repeatedly, but without any romantic attachment (no strings attached).
   • 1984 December 22, Patrick Scully, “The Attraction of the Unknown”, in Gay Community News, volume 12, number 23, page 7:

     As I get to know a man, the image becomes overshadowed by his real self. I like him for who he is, but not for sex. There are also men I've been sexual with who did not become friends. These have been men with whom the only basis for interaction was sexual attraction […] It was easier to continue to be sexual with these men, because I did not care to learn about them as people. They could more easily remain sex objects than the men I cared about. So I'm left with some friends, some fuck buddies, and no sustaining intimate sexual relationships. I'm lonelier than I'd like to be, not because I have to be half of a couple, but because I want to connect with men more deeply.
