    Etymology 2

    [edit]

Uncertain. The traditional derivation from अङ्ग् (aṅg, to go) is semantically unappealing. Others connect the word to Old Prussian anga (whether).

    [edit]

    अङ्ग (aṅga)

    1. a particle implying attention, assent or desire, and sometimes impatience; it may be rendered by well
