[edit]From Middle Persian 𐭧𐭥𐭮𐭫𐭥𐭣𐭩 (hwslwdy /Husrōy/), [Book Pahlavi needed] (hwslwb' /Husrav/), from Old Median *Husrava, from Proto-Iranian *Hhucráwah (“renowned, famous”).
