λάχανον
Appearance
Ancient Greek
[edit]Etymology
[edit]Probably of Pre-Greek origin, as suggested by the suffix -ανον. The denominative simplex λαχαίνω (lakhaínō, “to dig”), which has only late attestations, is probably a back-formation from compounded forms.[1]
