Also Hush-a-bye Baby: popular English-language nursery rhyme and lullaby. It has a Roud Folk Song Index number of 2768. The first printed version was in Mother Goose's Melody (London, c. 1765). The melody may be a variant of the English satirical ballad "Lillibullero", and is sometimes credited to Effie Crockett or Charles Dupee Blake.
