Usage
[edit]This template, quite simply, inserts sic in a quote, with the link, italics, and brackets (which are tricky, considering the link is also in brackets) done for you. For instance:
* The House of Representatives shall chuse {{sic}} their Speaker...
* I was amused to be invited for a 'bear-back {{sic}} ride' into town
is rendered as:
- The House of Representatives shall chuse [sic] their Speaker...
- I was amused to be invited for a 'bear-back [sic] ride' into town
Explanation
[edit]The style was taken from Wikiquote:Spellings, which previously said:
- "add "[sic]" (with italics and brackets, without quotes)"
As explained on w:Talk:Sic#Brackets, the correct style is to italicize sic, but not the brackets.
