This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Comics and animation. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.

Adding a new AfD discussion

Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:

Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Comics and animation|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.

There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.

Removing a closed AfD discussion

Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.

Other types of discussions

You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Comics and animation. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.

Reviewed for NPP. This article was AfD'd previously in 2011, where sources were presented, however I do not believe any of these sources actually help its case given modern standards. All of the sources presented were passing mentions where the character is used as a brief mention with no sigcov. Following this discussion of keep, a discussion to merge was had on the talk page, which reached a conclusion to merge. This was undone recently under the grounds that the character is important and has other language articles, which does not help it pass the GNG. Redirect to List of The Smurfs characters? Restore Redirect to List of The Smurfs characters - Of the sources currently in the article, only one of them actually has significant coverage specifically on the character, and I am somewhat dubious as to whether it would count as a reliable source. The handful of sources presented in the previous AFD were all extremely trivial mentions of the character that would not help pass the WP:GNG. Searches are not bringing up significant coverage on the character that would justify an independent article separate from the franchise character article. The argument that it should be kept because other language Wikipedias have articles is not a valid argument itself, especially considering that most of them don't, and the one I found that did, in the French Wikipedia, also doesn't cite any valid sources. Osyana

Reviewed for NPP. Does not pass WP:NBOOK. There doesn't seem to be a lot about the book? There is a decent amount of things in press, but it all appears to be press-release type material (which doesn't count for Nbooks) from the publisher with little information that is more than it exists. There are more press release type materials that said there was going to be a movie to be released five years ago, but that never happened so that criterion of nbooks does not apply. Delete - There are no sources that I can find that give significant coverage to the Metal Men's enemies that would allow this to pass WP:LISTN. Very few of these entries link to articles, because most have zero notability. Could possibly Redirect to Metal Men#Enemies, but given that the title is an unlikely search term and it does not appear that anything currently redirects to this list, I don't see that as being really necessary. Delete per Rorshacma. WP:BEFORE didn't show me a lot of sources. I wouldn't object to a partial merge if that WP:ATD emerges as a consensus. But that's really hard when a lot of these fail WP:V. Shooterwalker (talk) 16:38, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Keep: A rather standard list. Can be very easily sourced individually or with things like https://english.aaj.tv/news/330375751/pti-calls-off-rally-as-islamabad-red-zone-sealed-schools-closed ; https://tribune.com.pk/story/409963/animatedly-yours etc. There's no "TV animation in Pakistan" article so a list is suitable. Could also be considered a WP:SPLITLIST of List of Pakistani television series so I find no real reason for deletion. -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 12:12, 22 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: I cleaned up the page roughly. Added a source that mentions 4 awards (but I could not verify them with other sources) and good audience at the start of the series. The series was also distributed in Portugal and Poland. That could be enough but more (and better) sources would be nice.-My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 17:18, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
